In days gone buy, people could buy reductions in the time they would spend it pergatury by making donations to a particular order. A cleric would assess the donation and issue a certificate to the donor saying how many days their time in purgatory would be reduced by. Great for people who lead sinful lives looking to reduce their suffering in the next life.

This seems to have some parallels with carbon trading. In theory, you can still drive to work if you pay someone else to take public transport on your behalf, but the industy is entirely self regulated. People send money to which ever carbon offset services has the best marketing and they get a certificate with picture of trees and a statement of how much CO2 reduction you've bought.

I was planning on having a thank you scroll set out with our wedding favors at our reception.
I am having a lil trouble with the wording...
I found this on verseit.com and was going to tweak it a bit...

What words can ever tell
the joy that we feel
remembering that you shared
the beginning of our
new life together

Thank you for your gifts,
whether wrapped, spoken or written
and for making our day a true celebration
of our love, family and friendships.

Thanks for your input.

When I was little, I was Christian and I believed in Santa.

When I was about 4-5 I lasked my mom if Santa was real
She said no.

That's also when I started to question the accuracy if the whole God thing.

Santa was a magical fat dude that gave away toys to the whole world every Christmas, with magic, and decides if you were naughty or nice. God was a dude that created everything(through magic) and chooses if we go to
heaven or hell.

In my simple young mind they seemed pretty similar, and when learning one wasn't real, I realized there was just as little proof of Santas existence as there was of God's existence.

Do you think my situation is a common one many little kids go through?

Do you think the idea of Santa hurts Christians?

i met this married man three months ago in a drinking session and we end up having sex. it's my first time to do it with a man and honestly i enjoy it, being kiss and hug by another man but this is more on physical sex as we both love our wives and kids. this meeting goes on at least every week, we enjoy our company and after sex we go back to our wives, this is very discreet and we're doing safe methods. my sex with my wife had improved since then and she enjoys the new enthusiasm. i know i cheated my wife the worst to another man. i'm thinking on telling her but i don't know how and i'm loking for the right time. i'm weighing the option that my wife will freak out and this secret will go out to our families and friends. i don't know what to do..if i tell my wife and she accept it will my cheating be absolved. incase she agreed that i continue seing this man while we remain married is the cheating no longer an issue. please help me make up my mind??? thanks!!

At the moment I do not have a glamourous lifestyle but is able to save about a 1000USD a month. I do not have management qualifications and if I return to SA will not nearly earn the same money I do now, but I'm tired of living in a foreign country and the hassle that goes with it. I soon have to make up my mind.

A Missouri State Trooper pulled a car over for speeding. When the trooper asked the driver why he was speeding, the driver answered that he was a magician and a juggler and he was on his way to Branson to do a show that night and didn't want to be late.

The trooper told the driver he was fascinated by juggling, and if the driver would do a little juggling for him that he wouldn't give him a ticket.

The driver told the trooper that he had sent all of his equipment on ahead and didn't have anything to juggle.
The trooper told him that he had some flares in the trunk of his squad car and asked if he could juggle them. The juggler stated that he could, so the trooper got three flares, lit them and handed them to the juggler.

While the man was doing his juggling act, a car pulled in behind the squad car, a drunk got out and watched the performance briefly; he then went over to the squad car, opened the rear door and got in.

The trooper observed him doing this and went over to his squad car, opened the door and asked the drunk what he thought he was doing.

The drunk replied, "Might as well take my *** on to jail, there's no way in hell I can pass that test."

A man went into a pharmacy and asked to talk to a male pharmacist. The woman he was talking to said that she was the pharmacist and that she and her sister owned the store, so there were no males employed there. She then asked if there was something which she could help the gentleman with.

The man said that it was something that he would be much more comfortable discussing with a male pharmacist. The female pharmacist assured him that she was completely professional and whatever it was that he needed to discuss, he could be confident that she would treat him with the highest level of professionalism.

The man agreed and began by saying, "This is tough for me to discuss, but I have a permanent erection. It causes me a lot of problems and severe embarrassment. So I was wondering what you could give me for it?

"The pharmacist said, "Just a minute, I'll go talk to my sister."

When she returned, she said, "We discussed it at length and the absolute best we can do is, 1/3 ownership in the store, a company car, and $3,000 a month living expenses."

i would have invaded turkey just after the greek campaign (while stationing the majority of troops on the russian border of course) the turkish army would of been an easy victory and lead to a land bridge to the middle east which mans the suez could of been attacked on two different fronts and the supply ship and convoys would not have to be ran through the med and passed malta.

also by controlling turkey the caucasian oil fields would be in easy reach from the turkish border thus denying ussr access to its oil reserves and starving its t- 34's of oil and denying ussr's ability to wage tank battles on the scale they did.

also with the fall of the suez the med would be virtually cut of, even with gib in british control. such a result may have lead to franco joining the axis.

once russia fell a land bridge with japan in the east, via siberia, would have been created. britain would sue for peace and america would never of been attacked due to the supply of caucasian oil

A man walks into the front door of the pub. He is obviously drunk, and staggers up to the bar, seats himself on a stool and with a belch, asks the barman for a drink.

The barman politely informs the man that he has already had plenty to drink, he could not serve him and could a taxi be called for him? The drunk is briefly surprised, then softly scoffs, grumbles, climbs down off the stool and staggers out the front door.

A few minutes later, the same drunk stumbles in the SIDE door of the pub. He wobbles up to the bar and shouts for a drink. The barman comes over and firmly but still politely refuses to serve the man and again offers to call for a taxi. The drunk looks at the barman for a moment angrily, curses and stumbles out the side door, all the while grumbling and shaking his head.

A few minutes later, the same drunk bursts in through the BACK door of the pub. He plops himself up on the stool, gathers his wits and belligerently orders a drink. The barman comes over and emphatically reminds the man that he is clearly drunk, will be served no drinks and either a taxi or the Police will be called immediately.

The surprised drunk looks at the barman and in hopeless anguish cries Geeze, how many bars do you work at?"

I do mainly video editing/photoshop etc but hardly any gaming.

I don't want to do any overclocking and I was looking at these packages. One is a 6600 and the other is 6850:

6600: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?MBB-P5NQ66

6850: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?MBB-P5N685

I've read reviews and comparisons all over the internet and they they only seem to take into account that you spend all of your time gaming and you want to overclock them.

I think i'm stuck between weather i should go for the dual core or quad core.

What would you recommend? Will one need more cooling than the other? Which will run faster out of the box for Sony Vegas, photoshop and flash?

I'm upgrading from a Pentium 4 2.6GHz with 1GB RAM. Will i see much of an improvement?

I'll be using the new setup to go to Uni with so I won't want to be doing any more upgrading for around 3 years!

Thanks a lot
Jon

A man is in bed with his wife when there is a rat-a-tat-tat on the door. He rolls over and looks at his clock, and it's half past three in the morning. "I'm not getting out of bed at this time," he thinks, and rolls over. Then, a louder knock follows.

"Aren't you going to answer that?" says his wife.

So he drags himself out of bed and goes downstairs. He opens the door and there is man standing at the door. It didn't take the homeowner long to realize the man was drunk.

"Hi there," slurs the stranger. "Can you give me a push?"

"No, get lost. It's half past three. I was in bed," says the man and slams the door. He goes back up to bed and tells his wife what happened and she says,

"Dave, that wasn't very nice of you. Remember that night we broke down in the pouring rain on the way to pick the kids up from the baby sitter and you had to knock on that man's house to get us started again? What would have happened if he'd told us to get lost?"

"But the guy was drunk," says the husband.

"It doesn't matter," says the wife. "He needs our help and it would be the Christian thing to help him." So the husband gets out of bed again, gets dressed, and goes downstairs. He opens the door, and not being able to see the stranger anywhere he shouts, "Hey, do you still want a push?"

And he hears a voice cry out, "Yeah, please."

So, still being unable to see the stranger he shouts, "Where are you?"

And the stranger replies, "I'm over here, on your swing."

Give me a push……….
