I was planning on having a thank you scroll set out with our wedding favors at our reception.
I am having a lil trouble with the wording...
I found this on verseit.com and was going to tweak it a bit...

What words can ever tell
the joy that we feel
remembering that you shared
the beginning of our
new life together

Thank you for your gifts,
whether wrapped, spoken or written
and for making our day a true celebration
of our love, family and friendships.

Thanks for your input.

What beautiful words to share with your guests. The paper you chose will be important, i.e. an antique vellum, wrapped with a corded tassel to tie in with your reception color scheme. As you probably know, the wraps should be placed on top of the dinner plate.

Just a recommendation:

Words could never say
the joy and gratefulness we have
remembering you shared the
this day, precious hours, with us
beginning and completing our life together.

Our friends, thank you for your gifts, be
wrapped, spoken, or written in words.
The greatest gift, our friend, is your presence on this day
to celebrate this blessed celebration with
us and our family.

Congratulations. Have a wonderful life together - forever.

Your idea sounds nice, although I think the writing definitely needs changed. I see it says "Thank you for your gifts", but I think it is rather rude to have that in a "Thank You" attached to a favor. I think it would be better to have a tag saying "Thank you for joining us on our special day" and have your wedding date on the other side.

I hope you are not trying to get out of writing Thank You cards. Guests who give gifts should receive personalized, hand written Thank You cards, not a generic "Thank you for your gifts" given to everyone. It would be viewed as lazy to just use the scrolls as your Thank Yous.

Just my opinion.

i like the suggested words from the previous post better.

And just a side note: I hope you do realize that these can not take the place of sending personal thank you cards later.
