What do you prefer on girls???
I'm very pale which I've always thought was a disadvantage but its starting to seem not.

Pale can be beautiful, esp. in comparison to that tanned leather hide girls bake themselves into. ICK. When you are 30 and look 25, and they are 30 and look 45, we'll see which is better!

I like tanning but I'm Italian. Well the good things are if you have any face or body acne, it clears it up because the rays make your skin release vitamin D. It makes scars, body hair and other imperfections less noticable and also makes you look thinner and healthier. Tanning also releases endorphins, so it can become addicting. What sucks is the risk of skin cancer and looking like a leathery dalmation when you're middle aged. I say tan while you're young but know when to stop because you'll speed the aging process. Be careful to only start out at 5-8 mins in a level 1 bed so you don't get burnt and if you're too pale you may not be able to get tan anyway.

Throughout high school and college I always thought tan, but since I have grown up a little more I have decided I'd rather be pale than dead. Tanning puts you at such a risk for skin cancer, it really isn't worth it. And when you're old you'll look ancient. Wear a sunscreen every day, and you can always use a bronzer to up your "tan" a little.

It's really what is inside that counts.
Tanning salons are a no-no. Going to those places will ruin your skin and health. Don't sit in the sun too long, especially if you have pale skin!
I think pale skin is really beautiful, just as much as tan skin.

well I am a girl but I can say on some people, like fair skinned red heads or strawberry blondes, pale skin is nice and tan skin on them looks like crap. But with dark haired people, pale skin looks gothic and scary.

it's really a matter of cultural preferences;
but either tan or pale skin has the same objectives;
better self esteem or correcting uneven skin tone.

Pale, depending on if you have the skin tone and/or features for it, although tan does look good on most people. it definitey will give you a healthy glow.

A light natural tan is OK. Nothing fake. Tan lines are hot.
