I would love to get an as accurate as possible translation of "Write to make sense of life."

I've asked an old English prof of mine (who just happens to know things like this), and he gave me this:

"Scribere vitam intelligere est. 'To write is to understand life.'
I'm surer of this simple formulation than I would be trying to write an imperative and construct a purpose clause that, as I recall, involves some peculiarity with the verb--a use of the subjunctive or an alteration of tenses."

If by any chance anyone here can add (or subtract) to this definition, (or tell me where I can go to find someone who can!), I'd greatly appreciate it. And my prof was right; what I really want to get across is this: "One must write in order to understand life" -- so I think the purpose clause ("ut") that he mentions is necessary. Don't you??

if they had known the problems that were ahead of them because of an ex spouse? I am on one hand the luckiest lady in the world because of the man I am married to, however his ex is always causing problems and the children act out because of it.

My wife wants to paint them white. She thinks that oak is dated. I kind of see her point. I want to leave them natural though. They are light in color. Our appliances are stainless. We are going to paint the walls a nuetral green that almost looks like a light grey. If we keep the cabinets the natural color, what color floors (tile) and countertops should we have. I was thinking dark, like charcoal. I would like to know what you think.

I've been married 6 months. I have recently found out that my husand is Bipolar. He had an episode last month where he became violent. He has finally gotten help and is now on meds and doing great. However, he is now realizing that this was the cause of losing his previous wife.He calls my daughter by her daughter's name. He has in the past few months threw her in my face, telling me he wished he never told her to leave . I have a feeling there is unfinished business there for him. I think that since he is better he regrets not getting help in time to save his marriage withher. Since his outburst a month ago, my daughter is affraid of him. She fears his meds won't work or he'll relapse. Now she wants to go live with her father. What bothers me is that when I told my husband about it, he immediately told me I should leave and we shouldn't be married anymore. Why do I get t the feeling he wants me to go so he can see if he can make it work w/ his ex, and this was his out.

This is my first speeder so I was told by folks to fight it so it won't go against my driving record. I was clocked at 103. Maybe I was, maybe not. But anyway, I don't know the first thing about any of this. What do I say and do. Or should I just cop to it. I really don't want to if it's going to make my insurance go up. I just want to know how to work it out =]

1) A student wants to find out the efficiency of a stereo system, rated at 20 watts sound output. She buys some batteries, which store 400,000 joules of energy of chemical energy. When the new batteries are put into the stereo, and its switched on to play a tape, the batteries run out after 5 hours.

a) How much energy has the stereo usefully given out?

b) What is the efficiency of the tape recorder

In class we learnt that
Efficiency = Useful energy out divided by total energy in



The last question is:
If the stereo is used on the radio setting, would you expect the batteries to last longer?

I don’t know if it takes more power to power the motor to spin the CD and the laser to read it or if it takes more power to receive the signal from the radio station???

Many more fathers are taking care of kids and helping moms and we need to be able to change our children. I kind of understand building built before men got more involved. But I have been to brand new establishments with no changing table in the men's room or a family restroom. My wife has the flu so I took my daughter out on Sunday and three places did not have changing tables.

I mean whenever a mass is placed in spacetime it bends it causing gravitation anf time dialation around it right???

even magnetic field and electric field represent curved spacetime but why is it that magnetic fiel of a magnet attarcts or responds only to MAGNETIC substaneces? if its merely a curvature of spacetime all the "masses" should follow it and on nearing it should strike onto it..but its not quite so...
2)AND magnet repels like poles how is that..when its just a curve of space??? does space decide what type of matter sould follow it and in what directio0mn and manner?????

Sometimes when my horse starts picking up her pace...I pull back on the reines and tell her "wooo" in attempt to get her to stop. Sometimes she just fights me and won't stop unless I pull back real hard. Why is she doing this? Sometimes she is fine and stops well but other times she does this.

I'm 5ft 9", and I've gone from around 19 stone to 15 stone in around 4 months.

I'm eating breakfast (wheat cereal), lunch (fruit) and dinner (usually chicken or fish with potato). Also drinking only water, around 8 pints per day.

I'm doing a minimum of 30 minutes excersise per day, usually more.

Doing this I've lost 8 inches off my waistline so far (from 44" to 36")

The question is, am I losing this weight too fast? As far as I can see I'm losing weight in a healthy way, I'm not starving myself at all.

Last night, cancer took the life of an incredible woman. My ex's Mom. I want to contact him and his family but as devastating as this to me I know he is going thru alot worse pain. There family were very close.

How much time do I let his family grieve before I call him? Him and I are still good terms.

this morning (10-9-07) my exotic black and white homing pigeon came to my sliding glass door injured! when i opened the door he limped inside & hid in a corner! i found two spots of blood where i think it is the spot he got hurt.... i think one of his feet are broken, cause he is limping.... the leg works fine... but not the foot... and then he just sits there.... only breathing..... i saw his mate flying around earlier... but she just dissapeared... i can't find her now!

I have been with my boyfriend for 8 years. I have always took care of him like he was my child. I moved out of the house 3 months ago but I still see him and talk to him. He got laid off his job and then stupid me started paying his rent again and power bill. Well he has been lying to me. He is a liar that lies over and over and over. He can look so calmly at you when he is telling lies. Any way his ex started coming back around and he told me that it was just so he could see his daughter. The child is 9 and he signed away rights 7 years ago. I find out that the ex wife who is still married has been staying at the trailer with him that I am paying rent on. Well no more., I am not paying anything for him. I dont understand this mess. He has no job and no license and no transportation. He cant take care of himself much less a kid. What do you think will happen in this situtation??? Am I doing the right thing?? I am just going to quit going to check on him.
