Every time you make your little snotty, vile comments about the Church, as you have been doing all morning, I just get convinced more and more that it is the TRUE Church of Christ I've been reading them all morning, and, they have been making me very angry. I need to check myself in that area.
Like it or not here is the truth: Jesus promised, "I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18). This means that his Church will never be destroyed and will never fall away from him. His Church will survive until his return. Among the Christian churches, only the Catholic Church has existed since the time of Jesus. Every other Christian church is an offshoot of the Catholic Church. The Eastern Orthodox churches broke away from unity with the pope in 1054. The Protestant churches were established during the Reformation, which began in 1517. (Most of today’s Protestant churches are actually offshoots of the original Protestant offshoots.)

Only the Catholic Church existed in the tenth century, in the fifth century, and in the first century, faithfully teaching the doctrines given by Christ to the apostles, omitting nothing. The line of popes can be traced back, in unbroken succession, to Peter himself. This is unequaled by any institution in history: Even the oldest government is new compared to the papacy. The Catholic Church has existed for nearly 2,000 years, despite constant opposition from the world. This is testimony to the Church’s divine origin: Any merely human organization would have collapsed long ago. The Catholic Church is today the most vigorous church in the world (and the largest, with a billion members: one sixth of the human race), and that is testimony not to the cleverness of the Church’s leaders, but to the protection of the Holy Spirit.
So, what do you think? Post your vile, spiteful comments, and prove to the world what hateful, foul bigots you are. I rejoice in my persecutions.

Whoa has this been a 'get the Roman Catholic day' or what?????????
I am shocked to see how people feel about the Church! Before it vanished there was a post from someone that mentioned a website with the link. I went to the site and bam I saw the Catholic Church and it's traditions torn into shreds!!!!
Well I may not be the best read Catholic in the world I do know hate when I see it.
I will not defend the Vatican or it's policy but I will defend mass we have every Sunday. We go to mass for one reason and one reason only and that is in memory of Jesus Christ who died for our sins. I don't go to church to bang a tambourine and dance up and down the aisles nor do I go to get a finger pointed at me with fire and brimstone being yelled me either.
Mass is holy and in the name of Christ our lord. This has not changed in centuries.
Take away all the robes & vatican, traditions, sacraments etc. politics you are still left with the one fundemental reason for the Catholic Church and that is the rememberance of the crucification and the basic teaching of christianity.
That said I don't give a rats asss what those fundies have to say because as that website taught me they have hate not love in their hearts.

Hi Crusader.... while I agree with you on all the above, and I totally feel closer to Christ whenever someone says something hateful against my faith, I think perhaps the last comment was not called for... and even if it was called for, we are supposed to be patient and loving toward people. Consider this... We are supposed to strive after holiness, right? Okay, well, we call the Pope "His Holiness". People violently attack the Pope all the time. We don't see him making public announcements telling people to come and get him, so to speak. But we know, that when he is in prayer, he must be praying for those persecutors... Which is what I think we should do. I wanted to become Catholic because my friend slowly answered all my questions, not because he sat me down and said, "Look, here it is, take it or leave it." If he had, I would have left it.
Anyways, I am glad you are out there fighting the good fight! Keep it up!
Note: If the athiests want to conquer the world and make everyone believe there is no God (and we all know that majority usually rules) then why don't they stop allowing abortion? That way they can outnumber us and take over mwah hahahaha! *either that or provide us with more people who join the faith ; ) *

Of course the Orthodox churches trace Apostolic Succession back to the original 12 Apostles, every bit as well as does Rome.
And of course, the Church was functioning in the East LONG before Rome had a Bishop! The Orthodox tell me you "Johnny-Come-Lately" Romans BROKE AWAY FROM THEM in 1054, and that THEY are the "One True Church!" Frankly, their claims are a little better than yours from a purely historical perspective.
I am usually found as a defender of Rome against the various silly and stupid claims which many inveterate "Rome haters" post, however I stand for TRUTH in all cases. So you may as well admit that the Orthodox Church makes a pretty good case too. The fact YOU have chosen to believe Rome in this regard, does NOT mean the Orthodox do not have claims which deserve a close look.
So as soon as you and the Orthodox have figured out which one of you is the "One True Church," give me call........

I am "Catholic" in the literal sense of the word. My religion is Universal. Being born and raised an Italian Roman Catholic though has turned me off of modern day Catholicism. IMO, the Church has become corrupt from within, with the power struggles, monetary flushness, pedophilia, and secrecy. While the rituals and pageantry are comforting, the Church's worldy staus is not. Many of my friends and family have left the Church and have developed more personal & spiritual relationships with God without the aid of any religious authority. We have made a church in our hearts. Perhaps this is what Jesus meant when he said that his Church will never be destroyed nor fall away from him? While the Catholic Church has been around for aeons, one can't help but notice how as the world has embraced evil & corruption over the millenia, so has the Church. Thanks for your good wishes, I'm putting my faith in Jesus Christ.
Bummer, two thumbs down because I disagree with the Church? Thanks for the love Catholics!

CJ wrote: "Catholicism is a Babylonian pagan cult that started with Constantine the pagan. True Christians always stayed away from your cult, no matter what "revisionist history" you propagandize.
I reply:
It's kinda funny really. You accept the books of the NT as inspired and yet you state that the 'pagan cult' started with Constantine (around 325 AD). Don't you see? The only reason you have those books in such a collection or that you can know they are inspired is if you give authority to this 'babylonian' sect to choose these books since they identified these 27 books as inspired in around 384 AD!!
God Bless

what's there to love approximately Obama? when you have re-elected, Obama would be loose to be the genuine Obama -- loose to wreak havoc. He may be himself -- the Marxist enemy of organization, capitalism and patriotism. he would be loose to base the financial device on “social justice” and affirmative action. he would be loose to reward his friends and punish his enemies. he would be loose to sentence Israel and buddy as much as the Muslim Brotherhood. Obama’s 2nd term is what it extremely is all approximately. The enemies of usa have been waiting for this hazard their total lives. it extremely is their version of the yank Dream. A socialist contained in the White residing house with 4 years to wreck usa from interior, and no person to respond to to. Karl Marx and Saul Alinsky may be proud of their student. And all he has to do is “be cool” for the subsequent 2 months. carry his hearth. Smile. Kiss babies. compliment usa. Befriend the rich. grow to be a cheerleader for organization. And coach in common terms a touch spending restraint...for 2 short months. The ends justify the skill. 2 extra months of endurance and the keys to the dominion…and the monetary device…and the Fed…and usa militia…and the nuclear arsenal…all belong to Obama. And the united states of america that all of us understand and love must be long previous continually. Is that what you want?

One poster claims that to consider Catholic priests as "other Christs" is blasphemy, but neglects to realize that Jesus told his apostles (and their ordained successors) to "Do this in memory of me."
When priests celebrate Mass, just as Jesus commanded, they are indeed standing in the place of Christ, and acting in his stead, according to the authority Jesus personally gave to the apostles, and the new covenant, sacrificial priesthood that he established at the Last Supper.
Another poster claims there's something wrong with the office of Pope, because he is called the "Holy Father" failing to realize that the office is holy because it was established by and for Christ and his authentic church, which remains holy, no matter who might presently be serving as its' earthly leader.
Still another claims Catholics cannot prove Peter was in Rome, yet mid 20th century excavations have proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the bones of St. Peter were indeed found buried beneath the basilica in the Vatican that is named after him, and also proved that this was known for certain since the early 4th century, when the first basilica was built on that same site.
Jesus evidently wasn't kidding when he said to Peter, "On this Rock I will build my church."
Anyone who fails to do the authentic research on the origin and nature of the Catholic church, or who relies on anything they hear from anti-Catholic sources, has already been deceived, and will be easy pickings for the authentic anti-christ, when "the man of sin" and the "son of perdition" is eventually revealed, at the time of the 6th seal, and the 6th vial, and the 6th trump ... 6-6-6!
So, IGNORANCE of the truth will be the authentic "Mark of the Beast".
In the mean time, we all still have a bit of time available to try to put our divisions aside, and close ranks, for Christ.
And name calling doesn't help at all.

Sorry no anti catholic vileness coming here but it's a good thing that the pentecostals came along now people can start going to heaven. ::Eyes Rolling:: It's just too bad for all those poor misled souls that came between Jesus and the pentecostal movement. I agree w/you that if the church were all that bad it would not stand.
Reply to Suzi: Jesus compared all people to sheep my fellow lamby pie. We're all following someone or something like a flock of wooly little lamb heads.

I was raised Catholic. However you are missing a few key points. The Catholic Church has continuously changed it rules and doctrines to suit itself. Through this it has gained power and monetary goods. I do not think that this was what Jesus had in mind when he came to save mankind. The only laws that matter are the laws of God. Laws that men (even popes) make are not infallible.
I will agree with you that other Christian religions are off shoots of the Catholic Church. Thebreaks were caused by man made rules that each could not agree on.
I never stated to dislike or hate the church, but I do clearly see it's shortcomings.

If you rejoice in persecuting other people, I certainly question your Christian values. You are consumed with hatred and probably need some time on bended knee in your church. Really, your hostility and anger about this is remarkable but also very unhealthy. Seek help and forgiveness through prayer . It's not necessary to use words like " snotty, vile" to make an intelligent point about faith and Chritianity.
