The mx705 came with my system but is still in the box and I could probably resell it for close to what I paid--it was $80 as part of the package deal at Circuit City.
The Acer has a 3-year warranty and would cost $139 at a local Staples store during a current promotion.
If you want some specs:
HP 17" CRT:
Dot Pitch / Pixel Pitch 0.25 mm
Max Resolution 1280 x 1024 / 60 Hz
Max Sync Rate (V x H) 160 Hz x 70 KHz
Video Bandwidth: 110 MHz
Controls / Adjustments: Degauss, Contrast, H/V size, Rotation, H/V moire, Trapezoid, Brightness, Pincushion, Pin balance, H/V position, Parallelogram, Color temperature
Video Output: None
Signal Input: VGA
1 year warranty
Acer 19" wide-screen
Resolution 1440 x 900
Contrast ratio 800:1
Brightness 300 cd/m2
Reponse time 5ms
Dimensions 21.1"W x 16.5"H x 7.6"D
3 year warranty
I'm leaning toward keeping the Acer and re-selling the still-in-box HP. Thanks for your suggestions.
