To "line up"
cl Left align button - all text begins at the left margin, but gives a jagged right margin. In my opinion, this looks better than justified.
cl the "justified" button - text is stretched out to meet the left and right margins - sometimes makes for large gaps between words, unless you hyphenate.
cl the "center" button - each line of text is centered on the page.
You can also align, or line up graphics. If you have several on a page, text boxes for example, you would select them all, then click Draw (on the Drawing toolbar), cl "align," and line them up on the left, right, whatever.
Just create a document called "practice" and have some fun with trial and error.
