I think a more important question is, why is there anything at all. If it's 1 universe, or 1 universe plus God, the fact that there is something rather than nothing, to me, is extrodinary.

I just saw that there is another,about the size of small kittens.I leave a bowl of water outside because it has been so hot this week.I have seen one inside,after our cats food.I thought I could keep them outside with a bowl of leftover food,chicken and grapes.I know,get a screen door...
But,is it bad to feed these little guys?I looked on line and rabies is really not a worry in this area.We live in Vence,CA..lots of squirells and racoons here too.My cat,Sinbad,seems very disinterested in them and they with him.Thanks in advance,G.C.

From my family's perspective I am a lazy, mean, angry *****.
I never clean up, I can't seem to respect anyone.

From my side I am always really tired so I don't do any chores.
My mom is a neat freak that has too much energy and always wants to clean up. I went to the doctor about my fatigue and was told to take to take multi-vitimans (never given to me).
I am a easily angered person and don't take well to authority.

At the moment our house caught fire and we're in seperate hotel rooms, my mom comes in every moment to criticize the room when seriously it aint that bad.

She is claiming she is going to send me to live with my grandma before I go to college (Sending me to Hell basically). Do I sound that bad, I feel more than unappreciated and can't stand to be around my family any more.

Please don't come to bash me, I got plenty of beating as a child and am not close to being "spoiled". Even under the threat of getting my *** beatin I'm still a *****.

Am I that bad?

My family is planning our first trip to Europe, and due to all our various schedules we can only fit in 2 weeks for the trip. The countries we all want to visit the most are Spain, France, S. Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. We plan on spending the bulk of our time in Italy and mostly just want to pass through the other countries to see some major sites and natural beauty; like 1 or 2 nights per country and then visit several Italian cities. Is it at all possible to visit all those places in only 2 weeks? If so, what is the best mode of transportation? I know most say the train, but I've also heard about bus transportation... anyone know anything about that?
I'm thinking we should fly into Madrid, then travel to Paris, then down to Munich, then through Switzerland to Venice, then Rome, Florence, Positano, and Pompeii, then travel up through S. France to Barcelona, up to Madrid and fly back... that sounds like a lot... is it possible?
If not, any suggestions on how to narrow it down?

marriage that is...?? We have been dating for a year and a half...we have a wonderful relationship...we do live separately. All of my friends and family (and his) keep asking me when we are getting married or engaged...or just say...we can't wait for you two to get married or we are so ready for you guys to get married...but nobody ever mentions it to HIM...I don't know what to say most of the time because he and I never talk about it...it is odd...we talk about our relationship as if we will always be together...even discuss having children together and all of those things...but it's never, 'when we get married' or 'if we get married' or anything like that..I love him and he loves me and we get along great...I never mention marriage because I don't want him to feel pressured, but I do want that with him and would like to know that he feels the same, but saying 'oh, by the way, just curious...do you think you want to marry me one day?"...I just could not do that...suggestions? Thx!

I was reading about the recent archaeological discovery of a beekeeping industry in the Beit Shean Valley in Israel, dating from 3000 years ago or so. Which just so happens (I think) to be around the time of King Solomon.

The beekeeping = honey ... which led me to muse on Moses’ enticing prospectus in Exodus about Canaan being “a land flowing with milk and honey”.

So, then I began to read about the association of ideas involved in this “flowing with milk and honey” hyperbole in the Ancient World. And, lo and behold, all of a sudden I’m back to Solomon and Astarte (or “Ashtoreth” in the Bible). Because, it seems, the “flowing with milk and honey” phrase could have had sexual connotations for the Ancient Semites; and could have been particularly associated with that earth-mother type goddess, Astarte.

This is one of those situations where a little reading becomes a dangerous thing. Can anyone set me straight, please?

She lived a sheltered life, no girlfriends, JW religion, strict parents, left home at 17 cuz she met someone "online" who happened to live in the same town, first bf, known each other for 2 months, and "He" is very smothering, has to know her every move, she can't go anywhere, he's suspicious of everything. I think she's way off target about getting married! But she see's it all as LOVE! And I (the Aunt) know the whole thing is doomed, foolish and don't want her to do it...but shes treating it like planning a birthday party, and not thinking about reality. And now her Mom (my sister) informs me she can't "host" the bridal shower, because she has a "class", and wants me to do it. I think thats horrible!, and it just tells me she's not taking it too seriously either. Bottom line...I don't want to be a part any of it...what can I say to my neice, her Mom, etc, so I don't look like the big bad creep?
