Places with fatty tissue hurt the least. Boney spots will hurt more. Good luck:)

Because this will be your first tattoo I recommend getting something on the small side. Many tattoo artists I have talked to explained that no one ever really knows how much a tattoo will actually hurt them (we all have different pain thresholds). As to where is least painful? Everyone has different opinions about that one, my first one was on my lower back, and it hurt, but was not unberable. I suggest lower back if you want to show it off sometimes but keep it hidden most of the time.

If you need to be able to cover the tattoo, you ought to put it on your upper arm, chest, or shoulder blade.

I had my first tattoo put on the inside of my right forearm.

I hate needles, but I was surprised at how pain free the process was. There were a few times he hit a nerve, but it was more discomfort than pain. If there is more than one artist at the tattoo parlor, ask for the artist with the lightest hand, it will have less discomfort.

Ask an artist about it with drawing in hand so that they can look at your body. We can't answer that and pain depends on you. Mine itched except when he made curves and got close to my heal. If you handle pain well it shouldn't be a problem, if you are more of a whimp about the little things anyway be prepared to do some sucking it up and taking it. The pain is part of it and your body counter acts whatever pain there is with a natural rush. It's not that bad anyway. Talk to an artist instead of asking us.

As far as pain, every person is different. I have a tattoo on my ribs, and most people agree this is the most painful spot. But honestly, it was the LEAST painful for my three tattoos. Everyone is different.

Place you can hide? Upper arm, most of your back, stomach, chest, thighs... lots of places, really. :) Even your wrist, if you get it small enough to be covered by a watch.

oooh, a peacock. cool. ive often thought of getting a peacock. i think that would look pretty feminine on a shoulder blade, easy to hide and show off, PLUS, thats also a relatively painless spot =)

I got mine on my upper arm near the shoulder. It's a good spot--a shirt with any kind of sleeve conceals it, but it's shown off with a tank top. I just can't wear tank tops at work.

don't do it on your hand. it would hurt sooo much. that's where a lot of your veins are. i think it's illegal somewhere but idk. i would definetly put my tattoo on my shoulder! because i wear tanktops like everyday. woo.

MAYBE ON YOUR LOWER BACK. IT IS EASILY HIDDEN. BUT THE DOWN SIDE TO THAT IS YOU CAN'T SEE IT UNLESS YOUR LOOKING IN THE MIRROR. OR MAYBE ON YOUR LOWER STOMACH. MY FIRST AND ONLY WAS ON MY LOWER BACK. IT WASN'T THAT BAD. IF YOU WANT IT.
