I'm moving eight hours away to go to college in a few days, and I am already very homesick. I know I am probably too old to be homesick, and that it is silly since I will be able to call/e-mail/IM everyone.

It's not even that I'm going to miss people so much as it is that I already miss my house and city. I've lived here all my life, I know what everything looks like and what to do. My new town will be tons of fun, but it just is not the same... it doesn't smell like home, it won't have the same characteristics... it's just not home.

My family will be coming up to visit about a month after they drop me off, and I will be coming home for Thanksgiving and Christmas. But I am uncharacteristically worked up about this... I have cried three times in as many years and the last two have been this week, about leaving home.

How can I stop from being so homesick? I don't want to show my homesickness to my family or to anyone in my new town.

Please help me.

There's a sweet little muffin you know, an' she wants Jack, she does! Is it worth a risk for a bit o' lovin' on the side? Nothin' serious, mind you, jus' a little fun with a vile temptress for a while, doesn't mean I love the bird. Do you think I can get away with it now, or is it riskin' me chuckers?

If God gave us free-will, then he did it forcefully, which contradicts free will itself. At what point did we exactly get free will? From birth? Then we didn't chose it, and hence it wasn't free will. Did we chose it some time in life, after maturity for instance? If we did "chose" it then we must have already had it to be able to make that choice.

Men are like......

.....placemats
they only show up when there's food on the table.

.....mascara
they usually run at the first sign of emotion.

.....bike helmets
they're good in emergencies but usually just look silly.

.....government bonds
they take so long to mature.

.....copiers
you need them in reproduction but that's about it.

.....lava lamps
fun to look at it but not all that bright.

.....bank accounts
without a lot of money they don't generate a lot of interest.

.....high heels
they're easy to walk on once you get the hang of it.

.....curling irons
they're always hot and always in your hair.

.....mini skirts
if your not careful they'll creep up your legs.

.....handguns
keep one around long enough and your gonna want to shoot it.

I am 16, but my mom still refuses to let me have a girlfriend. The last girl I was with I managed to stay with for a year, but my mom was so paranoid that she took my phone and called her, and once she found out the girl was in college (she had just started her freshman year a few months before, we had starting going out when she was starting her senior year in highschool) she cursed her out, called her a whore, and she was so hurt by it we actually ended the relationship within the week. She has yet to find out about my new girlfriend, but she has seen her and I can tell she disapproves. I just know once I begin talking to my girlfriends parents (which will be soon) they are going to want to talk to mine. My mom knows that we've been dating, but as soon as I use the word "girlfriend" I know it's going to be the same thing all over again, how do I convince her that labeled or not, this girl is my girlfriend without her doing something irrational?

We are considering the idea of adding a dog to our family. We currently have an 18 month old son and are expecting again in the end of September (another boy!) We would most likely adopt a puppy (as opposed to an adult dog) so they would grow up accustomed to our children's presence/behavoirs.

We are living in a 900 square foot apartment. I don't work and my son and I spend our afternoons at the park so excercising the dog on a daily basis wouldn't be a problem.

The only hesitation is my husband is concerned that I will end up with "too much on my plate." Has anyone been in a similar situation to ours? Would you recommend following through with a puppy adoption or waiting?
