Older people are generally nice, but some didn't have great manners. I know that many people think that old people at some point start becoming like when they were little kids(need more help,etc), but arent things like manners learned when people are young and then not forgotten?? i walk with a limp from Spina Bifida and they were all staring at me in disgust. And also, when i sat down at the dinner area, i saw many whispering about me to each other and the ones who were hard of hearing were yelling to each other "whats with these school kids, they cant help us, why do they volunteer?". why dont these people realize what they are doing? they should know how to act towards other people, especially people like me trying to help. its like they learn manners as children and use it when they are adults, and then it all goes out the window when they get old. im 17 by the way.

I've read books on the drug dealing life, the life in the ghetto, inner city. Here's my question: short of living for a couple of years in an inner city ghetto, what book will teach you about the life that goes on there: a novel set in a ghetto, an autobiography, or some book of sociology or psychology? If you can think of a particular book that shows life as it really is among the drug dealins subculture, what is it? I say it's CLOCKERS by Richard Price, the book, not the movie. Can cats get it? I have an 8 yr. old, very overweight (he's fixed) cat, and i've noticed latley that he's been drinking alot of water. But he seems healthy otherwise! He plays with the kitten, and dosent seem to lack in energy. Should I be concerned enough to call the vet?

I am looking for a job and have been out of work for awhile. I am so bored and disatisfied with my life right now. I need some ideas to get me more involved with social groups or even solitary hobbies. I have a hard time getting motivated in the morning because I really don't have anyplace I HAVE to go (ie. work) and it is easy to make excuses to not get dressed. Please help me come up with some ideas. I am in my late twenties and don't want to join groups for older people - something more my age. Any ideas? I am getting desperate! Please give me as many ideas as you can think of.

We have caller I.D. at work. So, when folks call, I usually know who they are and what they want before I pick up the phone.

Is it weird to pick up the phone and say, "Hi, Mr. Smith, I have everything ready for you..."

I just think it's a waste of time to do the required greeting, wait for them to identify themselves and what they want when I already know.
It also feels a little dishonest, like I'm lying or something.

Is that weird?
How do you handle it?

There is a 3 digit number that repeats in my life constantly. It is NOT a round even, common number that would would expect to repeat like 125 or 300...I can't explain why, but I'd rather not say the number.

It is in my social security number. I hear it mentioned throughout the day, on TV commericals, or in zip codes or phone numbers. I always catch the clock when it turns that time. Often, I will hang up my cell phone after a call and see that my conversation lasted exactly that amount of time. It is actually even the size of the diamond in my engagement ring. It's really bizarre how this number always appears,being that it's not a round number.

I'm wondering if anyone has any theories on why I might be seeing this number so often.

mainstream christians dont do it but some groups such as CHRISTADELPHIANS and 7TH DAY ADVENTISTS women cover their heads in church and when i questioned them about it they tell me that it comes from CORINTHIANS where apostle paul wanted women to cover up in church.

but its not a teaching of jesus, but comes from paul

now when i did some studies about paul's background i found out that he originally came from a very conservative jewish sect and incorpoated some practices into christianity

when it comes to women covering up and been silent in church, i feel its all to do with pauls culture and nothing to do with the teachings of christ

could i be right on this friends?

Army A has excellent deception plans, excellent strategies off the battlefields, good at luring enemies and setting dead traps,good at tricking enemies... but has inferior armour,weapons, sucks at battle formation and tactics and face to face combats...

Army B has superior precision,battle tactics,battle formations,armour and weapons but they never use any deceptions plans or dont have any long-term strategies or strategies off the battlefield.... If both armies are having a war...whos going to win?????

I am 35 weeks along, 5 short weeks left to go. I dont feel any different today than I did the day I found out I was pregnant really, aside from the baby bouncing around, and this biiiiiig belly. How are you/were you feeling at this point? I feel like I should "feel" my body getting ready to deliver this baby, but honestly it feels like I could just stay pregnant forever...weird?

I can't afford a locksmith (obviously, or I'd have a newer car lol) and I have to get them out tomorrow. I tried to break the wing window out with a hammer and towel when it first happened, but that thing won't budge. I'm sure a sledge hammer would do it, but now that I've calmed down, I'd like to avoid replacing a window if possible. Thanks!
