The Federal Reserve Act was passed at 11:45 p.m. on Christmas Eve, after all the opposing Senators had gone home to celebrate Christmas. Those who wanted the Federal Reserve had a quorum and passed the legislation in an unprecedented move. At the time, Congressman McFadden gave testimony in the House when he said:
"Mr. Chairman we have in this Country one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Banks hereinafter called the Fed. The Fed has cheated the Government of these United States and the people of the United States out of enough money to pay the Nation’s debt. The depredations and iniquities of the Fed has cost this County enough money to pay the National Debt several times over. They are not Government institutions. They are private monopolies which prey upon the people of these United States for the benefit of themselves and their foreign customers; foreign and domestic speculators and swindlers."

We're in the early days of potty training my 2 1/2 yr. old son, and this evening we have a problem! He's never managed to produce anything on the potty chair so far, but we've told him that when he does, he'll get a sticker (which he really, really wants!). So tonight, he said that he had to go and sat for about five minutes. Finally, after I could tell that he was trying, he managed to pass some gas. Since I felt that this showed that he had the general idea right and since he had been trying so hard, I decided to reward him with the sticker. I told him that since he had almost done it, I was proud of him for making such an effort. Ten minutes after I put him to bed, he stood up and started calling down the hall that he had to go potty. I let him get up and sit back on the potty chair. It was a no go. He is now in bed, crying loudly and screaming that he has to go again. Do you think think he just wants another go at the stickers, or maybe he's constipated? I feel terrible!

I just started going to this particular dentist and she told me that I needed to have my wisdom teeth removed. The bottom two. She told me that they could schedule it just as soon as my fillings were complete. I was unsure about it but not because of her...just because of the fact that any type of surgery terrifies me. Then on top of that my boss told me a horror story about having gone to the dentist her family had used for years for her wisdom teeth extraction and how she was in so much pain afterwards for days and weeks. So she had to go to an oral surgeon, found out something hadn't been done right, and then had to have it corrected. Which is better? What questions should I ask my new dentist about the procedure? I don't want to offend her but I also don't want to be like my boss.

What's with the fanaticism? The suicide bombings? beheadings? Veiling up a woman to the point of asphyxiation? And what's with hating the Jews? I really want to understand why the hate and violence? Will we ever be able to share common ground or just have to see who can kill more of the other? And is that truly in line with the glory of God? For non-Muslims, please don't give any political correct crap, that's not an answer. For moderate Muslims, please comment on your Muslim brethren who's activism is death to America, israel or the self. If I don't get it-please, help me understand.

My husband is usually running late after work. I will call him to find out whether to hold dinner or not. Lately, when I call he doesn't answer his phone. If I call 20 minutes later, he will answer but seem very distracted and out of breathe. Then he will tell me he will be late. This has happened nine times out of ten. I think maybe I am paranoid but there is this little voice that tells me to look into it. What do you think?

I've never really understood why God would give free will then damn you to hell if you did not do what he wants. I think of God as all loving but this sounds pretty cruel to me. I can't marry the two. It makes God sound like a tyrant. Also does anybody know anything about the devil being created in religious texts in the 13th century? Someone told me this once and just wondered if it were true.
