overall weight (fat) loss - we cant choose which body parts to lose weight off.
if you do sit ups your belly will look bigger since there is gona be more muscle underneath the layer of fat - they build muscle but do NOT burn fat.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

You should try a workout video by Minna Lessig. The one that I use is Minna Lessig's Fat Eliminator Workout. It's challenging but not too challenging, it's varied enough that you can do it over and over without getting bored, and she is a super encouraging workout leader.

crunches or this thing called the peter pan(they do it in the army) you lie on your back with your left hand behinde your head and the other arm by your side with your right leg 6inches off the ground and the other one flat then you touch your elbow to your right knee and do it on the other side...
IT REALLY BURNS THOUGH and you will probably have to start out doing only 4 or 5 on each side for a little while then work your way up. good luck
