why do i have so much pain???

Paying Employment Lawyer who provided poor service?

I was involved in an employment matter and obtained a lawyer who seemed credible at the time to pursue the matter. I signed a contract that required a percentage of the winnings, yet he required me to pay for disbursements and other costs. Anyways, i've paid out around $2000 and he has requested more money to keep pursuing the matter and I've decided to let it go. He has followed saying that he is going to bill me at an hourly rate less what I've paid.

I'm I obligated to pay him, and If I do not what repercusions would I face?

Is this marriage going to survive?

Husband 33, Wife 26, been together for almost 8 years (dating & marriage). Wife walked out on marriage of 2.5 years. Gets her own apartment. Started affair with another man. Affair goes on for 6 months. Very intense and very serious. Says she loves him, wants to marry him and so on, all the while still married but not living at home. She is basically ignoring her husband. Says that she wants a life with this other man and is ready to file for divorce. At the 11th hour, wife has a change of heart and is trying to reconcile with husband who knows of the affair, but not how serious it was(wife omitted that). Both are in individual counseling but not in couples counseling yet. Affair was revealed only a month ago. Wife still hasn't broken it off with the other guy and they still talk to each other on the phone periodically. Husband and wife aren't living together yet but are spending a lot of time together. Is this marriage going to survive?

What are some good ways to lose weight?

I'm not fat but I want to get healthier and skinnier. When I moved to Sibley I was real skinny now I'm alot more fat and don't have as much muscle. I used to be a farm girl. I want to get nack to my old figure. Please Help. I have alot of confidence and don't care what ppl. think but I only care right now about ME! I get self centered sometimes.

A Book I will Love As Much As 'The Secret History'?

I loved Donna Tartt's 'The Secret History' - it's one of the most haunting, original and evocative novels I've ever read.

Can anyone recommend another unusual novel? Please note: I'm NOT looking for purely 'commerical' books like Dan Brown etc etc, but rather something dark, haunting, clever, and beautifully written.

My cat has ulcerative colitis?

My cat has this disease and I'm curious as to where I can learn more about it. I understand that it is an inflammation of the bowel that cause bloody or mucous covered feaces (apparently due to the immune system attacking itself). However my cat also vomits blood and get really depressed during bouts. She is on three weekly steroid injections but these apparently carry the risk of inducing diabetes.
Is there a diet way to control it or a link to a paper that better explains this condition?

Equilibrium Lab Results - titration between weak acid, strong base?

Basically, we had a lab where we preformed titration between a weak acid and a strong base. After the solution went past neutral (> pH 7), the pH level of the solution rose sharply as more base was added, until the solution became highly basic. BEFORE the solution neutralized, the change in pH was VERY gradual.

My question is: Why did the pH of the solution raise so sharply after the solution neutralized?

Any help would be appreciated, I've been trying to interpret the results for a while now with no luck.

Having children...?

I dont want to sound like totally superficial or whatever, but I am curious...I am getting to the age where I am thinking of having kids...I take real pride in my body, i work out do what I need to do and i am wondering if I have a child will I always look different? Will stretch marks go away, will I be able to tighten back up, or does being a mom mean looking different? I know it sounds horrible, but I have a few friends that have kids and well they are a far cry from what they used to look like...
