I understand that there are other "issues," of course, that play into this -- and some of these should at some point be addressed.

However, it saddens me the way some people are jumping on this tragedy -- using for an excuse to push their personal/political agenda.

Whether it's video game violence, gun control, or immigration issues ... why can't people just understand this is truly about some messed up guy senselessly killing people?

Is this bothering anyone else?

For me, it was a combination of the book Positive Magick, by Marion Weinstein and meeting a really cool guy who was Wiccan, after a couple years of being an "apatheist." It led me into Wicca. Later, I hankered after something a bit older, and so began attempting to apply the Old Ways to my modern life. I now identify as a Pagan.

How did you first learn about it? Book, website, friend, or something else altogether?

They used to hang around a pear tree we had,
and they were always swooping down on the
cat(?), and the dog, too. I don't see them much
anymore. The durn bluejays don't have the grace
of the raptors, who are up there riding the thermals.

My son is 13 and has lived with his father for most of his life. His father has told him only ignorant people believe in God. I've invited him to come with me to church, and he's seemed interested but then decides not to go. We have a really wonderful youth program and since he just came to live with me he doesn't have a lot of friends. I know he'd have a great time if he just gave it a try, so should I force him to go once or twice or just let him continue to believe church is boring?

Shall we gather together to send positive thoughts to those affected by the tragedy in Virginia? No prayers necessary.

May the sun shine bright and wash away despair.

"For more than 300 yrs, Racism has had a precise 'social' function"
A system of false ideas justifying the exploitation and domination of people with a visible degree of melanin in their skin by people whose melanocytes are not so active.

The Concept of 'race' persists in everyday speech as a 'Political' Category.
A category that helps to determine who has power over whom. The ascription of individuals to racial groups is a political act.

Racial labels are political weapons by means of which a dominant group can retain a subject group in subjection.

Having read my offering you see why the likes of Sharpton are angry.
America, socially and politically is a Racist society and Sharpton can NEVER be a racist.... NOT YET.

Tell everyone a little-known fact about yourself.

For example, how many of you know I'm almost completely night-blind? I've actually walked into walls before and my kids think it's hilarious, the little stinkers.

Oh, I almost forgot: Jesus!

I have had a lot going on in my life right now which has caused me some anxiety over the past week and a half. I am looking for a way to get past this. The first week was really bad - I didn't sleep at all and was pretty useless. Last week I was taking Benadryl to sleep and was doing ok during the day. By the end of last week, I felt back to normal. On Sunday of this week though I started getting nervous again and had to take Benadryl to sleep on Sunday and Monday night. I don't want to become hooked on Benadryl for sleeping...
I have started doing cardio for 30 min a day and I think that helped me a lot last week. I don't have any caffeine during the day - haven't for over a year. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get over this allready??
