im a cheerleader and i want to know if allstar cheerleading is a sport?

I believe that cheerleaders, especially those who perform competitively, are great athletes. However, any event that scores the participants subjectively should not be considered a "sport". When it comes right down to it, cheer leading, figure skating, gymnastics etc are just popularity contests. If you please a group of judges more than your competitors do, you win.
Sports are those events who's outcome is determined by objective means. Track and field events are good examples. The results are measurable and opinion has no place.

Yes cheerleading is a sport.
A sport is "1. competitive physical activity: an individual or group competitive activity involving physical exertion or skill, governed by rules, and sometimes engaged in professionally ( often used in the plural )" Judging by the definition YES it is :)

Without a doubt. Whether we'll see cheerleading in the Olympics in the near future is highly unlikely though.

yes. that is about all there is to it. can a football player do a standing tuck, and a full? i didnt think so. we travel all over the united states to go to competitions. this sport requires so much strength. im a guy, and before i started i was like"this will be soooo easy" and it isnt.

I think cheering for your school is better but yeah i consider it a sport.

exsperts say cheerleading is the mosts danderous sport in the world so yes it is.because you use all you body. not jest one.

no its not a sport... cuz any sport a chick can play in shouldnt be considered a sport
