I live in an area that is pretty wet and heavily wooded around the neighborhood. Gets pretty hot in the summer! What can I do to keep mosquitos away around the back patio and our front deck.

Probably should mention, my neighbors have an in ground pool. Do you think they would get offended if asked to go 1/2 on them and buy those mosquito disks for standing water?

First I would make sure that there is nothing in your yard that has standing water. Mosquitoes will lay their eggs in any still water.
There are products that you can buy that are environmentally safe. There are disks that you can add to any standing water area, no matter how big or small, that kills mosquito larva, but doesn't hurt other animals or plant life, try a good garden store, hardward store, or something like HomeDepot. You can also buy "tiki" torches and fill them with citronella oil and set them around the perimeter of your yard or patio. Another good idea is to buy a "bat" house. You can usually find these any place that sells bird houses. You can attach it to your house or to a tree, high up. It will attract bats and bats are great a decimating the mosquito population.
I hope this helps you. Happy Summer.
