Today I got into an arguement with my step dad and he threatened to "beat the **** out of me". While the rest of my family thinks he doesn't mean it, I do. I'm a fifteen year old girl and he's a forty year old man. If I called the police and told them this, what could they do for me?

Ok I've celebrated the "Easter" holiday all my life. The history behind the holiday was explained very well to me as a child and as an adult. The subject of the goddess of fertility came up MANY times. It was explained that as pagans converted to Christianity they changed over their holidays to Christian holidays, and they gave things new meanings. For example, the Christmas tree was once a pagan symbol, but now Christians see the tree as a symbol, not only of Christ's birth, but his death. ( he was laid in a manger and and died on a cross) And, on easter we chose to celebrate his resurrection. Maybe our time isn't perfected, but the point is to celebrate it together as a body, and hay... decorating eggs and trees is fun.

God made eggs and God made trees, so there can't be anything wrong with Christians enjoying them.

I need to make a special treat for my boyfriend, but he gets really sick from sugar (and even worse, sugar substitutes like Splenda or Sweet & Low, etc). He can have a little bit of sugar in small amounts, ie. 1/2 a teaspoon in tea since he's not diabetic, but it does NOT go down well!

I have banana bread in mind (ie. adding extra extra ripe bananas) but that doesn't seem special enough. I've also ordered him a diabetic fresh fruit cream cake which was a hit, but it's been done.

Any ideas? (recipes would be GREAT)

If you beat the **** out of me right now... I would be happy. If I were to get sick and come down with the flu right now... I would be happy. If I were to get trashed and then have a hangover so bad the next day that I am vomiting stomach acid and feel deathly ill... I would feel happy. I would feel happy because I feel like that is what I deserve. I push anyone who tries to help me out of my life and I don't know why. I try to stop it but i just can't, and at the end of the night it just leaves me lonely and in so much pain I am crying myself to sleep. Can someone explain this for me? Why do I do this?

A window broke while I was at work and I'm told my cats got out. Well while escaping, one got a really nasty cut on one of her paw pads. Its like someone took a knife and sliced off some layers of the pad. It looks really nasty. It's obvious it was bleeding, may still be but she is licking it a lot. She's limping and obviously in a lot of pain....any advise? Is there any ointment I can put on it that won't make her sick if she licks it? Should I bandage it? Should I take her to the 24-hour emergency vet?? Please help it looks bad!

Sure, if you're killing yourself because your cat died or your girlfriend left you, hell if you're just doing it because you're a stupid teenager who's hormones haven't learned to agree with your body yet or your wife left you or you're in debt or dealing with an episode of major depression, maybe, but for some people isn't saying that just a little bit niave?

Like the terminally ill? The severely and treatment resistant mentally ill? The brain dead?

Without knowing what the situation is, how can one simply blanket over suicide as 'wrong'.

when they do not get to speak. for instance in much of the movie castaway with tom hanks he is silent, and in the movie "the bellboy" with jerry lewis his bellboy character never speaks. i think that this kind of acting requires much more talent because it eliminates the actors main tool, the voice. the actor has no lines to remember no way to put the proper inflection or emphasis on a word they have only the body with which to purvey all of what they are trying to get across. what do you think?

My ex-girlfriend and I broke up in September of 2006 and since then we have not been in contact since. I have not heard a single word from her. We were in a relationship for 2 years and 15 days and when we broke up I lost contact with her and her family.

But this past Wednesday, I received a call from her father. He left me a voicemail, saying he "was just wondering how I was doing, if I was still going to school in the city, talk to you later."

I called him back a couple hours later and he didn't answer so I left him a message saying hi and told him what was new in my life and school, and I told him that I was leaving to go back home in one month.

Why would he be calling me now? I mean, I haven't heard from him or his daughter who broke my heart in over 6 months.

Before the breakup there was mention of me transferring to another school, and in one month I have to go back to Arkansas for the summer. Could my ex have told him to call? Should I see her before I leave to go back home?

I love my ex so muc i forgave her for so much she did to me, She said thats a choice you made. I done so much for her and she said You cant hold that over my head. Shes gone now tring to get with another guy but i cant get her out of my head i loved her so much and two years together and she doesnt care i got asked out on 3 dates after we broke but turned down everyone there just not her i cant shake her what can i do am i done did i lose the one thing that made me happy.
