good deeds are the initial step. Self realisation is very difficult. it needs complete surrender to the God. Refer the Bhagvat Gita. it has answers for all your questions (asked and unasked). trillion times better than asking on yahoo.

no you do not get to God by good deeds. People are mistaken in that idea, they think they have to be 'good' to earn a right to go to Heaven. To 'get God' you must admit you have sinned and are short of God's ideal, believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and Savior and is the Son of God, believe Jesus took all our sins upon Him as He hung on the cross to die, thereby taking our sins away, and that on the third day after crucifizion He raised from the dead and is now alive. Commit your life to Him. Jesus is the only way to God and salvation. Then we do good deeds because the love of God in our heart guides us to do good.

What is a good deed for you may be a bad deed for someone else. So what we need to do is something that is beyond good and bad.

No you can not. No good dead can ever pay the price of a single sin only the blood of Jesus can cleanse us of our sin. and any who claim not to sin are calling God a liar. only Jesus was ever sinless.

I highly recommend reading the Quran and Hadiths. if by your question you mean to get to heaven then follow my advice but you cant become God.
