Sure, if you're killing yourself because your cat died or your girlfriend left you, hell if you're just doing it because you're a stupid teenager who's hormones haven't learned to agree with your body yet or your wife left you or you're in debt or dealing with an episode of major depression, maybe, but for some people isn't saying that just a little bit niave?
Like the terminally ill? The severely and treatment resistant mentally ill? The brain dead?
Without knowing what the situation is, how can one simply blanket over suicide as 'wrong'.

I'm not angry. My avatar is of an angry face because it is mildly amusing.

I'm not contemplating suicide. I have no reason to kill myself. I am not asking this question for myself. My life is great, but someone elses life? Maybe not so much.

Suicide is a permanent solution however its not always temporary problem at hand. A better saying would be; suicide is mankind's way of telling God you can't fire me, I quit." I think life is the better outcome so suicide should never be the answer. However If it's a situation where they are slowly dying from an illness and they are in lots of pain from the illness and there is nothing that can be done for them then I think I would wanna kill my self too or want someone to kill me. That's just me though.

People say it's a permanent solution to a temporary problem because most of the time that's true. Like practically all generalizations, though, there are specific cases that prove it's not always right, as you have pointed out. I agree with you that some people do have permanent problems, and in those cases it seems reasonable to me to consider suicide as a potential option.
Because I opppose abortion, I used to try to camp with the Pro-Life people. However, I have recently concluded that the moniker does not fit me. I am merely anti-abortion. I am in favor of the death penalty, of waging war on terrorists, AND of permitting those who wish to do so to commit suicide. Even though suicide is *usually* a permanent solution to temporary problem, it is sometimes a permanent solution to a permanent problem, and it therefore should not be dismissed out of hand as an option.
For me personally, I can't imagine ever reaching a point where I would commit suicide, no matter how painful my terminal illness. However, many people can, and I support allowing them to end their lives if that's what they want to do.
PS -- I was wondering why your avatar looks angry. Thanks for explaining.

When an animal is in pain,
& there is no treatment that can help,
we humanely 'put them to sleep'.

When a person is so distraught that they can't see any solution except death, I believe that God takes this into Serious Consideration. Just as when an out-of-work parent who is recieving no financial aid might steal food for his family out of desperation, man's courts are more lenient than if he had stolen to ammass wealth or just for fun...
Jehovah God can-&-will resurrect those who have commited suicide, as long as they weren't 'too far gone' to begin with ... (having spoken against his holy spirit --Matthew 12:32). And I believe he will, for it is a True Disability to not be able to see all one's options realistically, and he has stated that all infirmaties will be done away with.
Jesus Christ said:
"With men it is impossible.
But with God, all things are possible."
--Matthew 19:26;Mark 10:27; Luke 18:27

God is emphasizing it.

I have had thoughts about it, but never attempted it. I have thought about cutting myself because I have felt sooo much emotional pain that i needed to see with my eyes, a physical pain so I can see it heal up. (if that makes any sense)
Some people are mentally ill and commit suicide. With that, I think that God is very forgiving because they aren't in the right frame of mind and were not thinking clearly. Some people kill themselves over a stupid boy who dumped them etc. I think that is dumb myself, but then again, I did think that once when I was 15.
This subject is so very touchy. I don't know anyone who died from suicide... yet.

It's the stupidest generalization a person who is clueless about life can make. Is being gay a TEMPORARY PROBLEM? Yeah, for religion fanatics who still think you can "pray the gay away." Sure, like you can pray being Asian away! FDLMAO. Some people are just azzhooles. They really have no clue. People commit suicide for different reasons. Not all of their issues are temporary. Except in the minds of judgmental idiots who lack empathy, wisdom and understanding.

Yes and no. Like you said, the terminally ill won't be a temporary problem, mainly if they are in pain. If a health person thinks of suicide, then for sure it is a cry for help, most of the times no one never hears it.

It is a decision for cowards that do not want to face the rough patches in life. It is the easy way out -- and as yet it requires some courage to be able to harm yourself terminally. Books on how to commit suicide in the libraries are never returned hence you may not find them in the busy libraries :)

"Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem" <<< Stupid misleading catch-all catch phrase. I have asked this question before on YA. The answers were: "well most problems are temporary" "Depression is the only reason people commit suicide and depression is temporary" and the worst of all: "All problems are temporary because life is temporary"

For the terminally ill I can understand it so you are correct you cannot blanket everyone or every situation as each is unique. However to kill yourself because you got dumped, lost your job, etc is wrong in my opinion. Those who commit suicide to avoid punishment for crimes, hey that is fine with me, I know they cheated the system but at least we didn't have to pay to lock them up.

this is one of the dangers of trying to face life alone. some of us try by our own choice and others of us have no choice.
if you have a place to turn when you feel blue or devastated and such, you are fortunate.
suicides are usually successful because there was nobody around to help or understand.
there isn't anything right about suicide. it isn't right to do away with one's self. it isn't right that there was nobody there for the poor soul. it isn't right that a person wasn't given a fighting chance to face the world in the first place.
but when you get right down to it, suicide, to take your own life is wrong and nothing will ever make it right.
