I have a small collection of steel pennies I got from the American Historic Society and noticed that some of them have the Denver mark, some have the San Fransisco mark, but the (I assume) Philadelphia-struck pennies have no mint mark on them. Anyone know why? I've already verified their authenticity with a magnet (since steel pennies are the only US coins that are attracted to magnets) so I know it ain't fake.

I can't understand why people refuse to acknowledge that Puerto Rico is a latin american country, with it's own language, culture and more than 500 years of history. That Puerto Rico has it's own national anthem and it's own national olympic team and that the Puerto Rican nationality is recognized worldwide. You think this has to do with the present political association with the US as a self governing commonwealth (official name: Estado Libre Asociado {translation: Associated Free State
) ?

I'm not looking for what st. has the best amusement park or sports. My family will be in a position in the next two years to choose to plant long term roots or relocate. One of us will be a cert. elem. school teacher, the other a nationally registered paramedic / firefighter. We have two young children.
Currently, we live in N.Ga. The positive aspects of staying are:
low cost of housing,
free college tuition, freedom to own firearms and a
teacher and paramedic shortage - job security.
The negative aspects of living in Ga.:
high rate of urban sprawl and the traffic that goes with it,
reverse discrimination and racial tension,
high immigrant population, schools ranked low nationally and it's generally flat, boring and disinteresting (no mountains, 4 hours to an ocean, can't see the stars .... suburban hell).
We've considered the Pacific Northwest and Utah. What places can you recommend for reasonable housing, gov't job opportunity and quality of living? East or West ... where and why?

The ocean in Marblehead, MA is really cold, i mean reeaaaally cold. Yet, I see pet owners tossing sticks into the water for the dogs to chase into the ocean and they do it. On new year's eve the water temp was so cold it hurt my finger. The water rarely even reaches 60 degrees in the hottest part of the summer. So, does anyone know if it is dangerous for our dogs?

My grandaughter always wants to stay at my house, or prefers to being with me instead of going home with her parents after they get off work, or any other time I babysit her. She screams, cries,and throws a temper fit. I love her dearly, and I hate to see her get into trouble when she acts this way. She is only two and I've babysat her since the day she was born. We are married, very happy, and proclaim ourselves to be straight; however, we like to watch movies with a drag queen theme and gay theme, i.e., Brokeback Mountain, Birdcage, To Wong Foo, etc. We do not declare ourselves as bisexuals, but if we see somebody handsome or pretty, we will discuss among ourselves on that person's positive physical attributes, no wonder what their gender, because we see everyone as human, not by gender. We also want to go to a drag queen club to see a show. We also hope Leonid the Magnificent goes on a tour so we can see him. Also, we are Christians but not haters like most of the LBGT community would assume us to be; in fact, we are actively trying to find a church that does not discriminate against the LBGT community. We are also social nudists (nothing sexual about it -- we just go to AANR-certified clubs).

I just started dating a guy about a month ago and I think he's married :( I've asked him and of course he said no, but things just don't add up. He's really jumpy when the phone rings he runs outside and if I come into the room he hangs it up really quick- and when I do ask him if he is married he gets very skiddish.

Do you guys know of any public records that show marriages, divorces etc. I have to know if he is or not, because I really like him but I can't continue seeing him if he is married.

Anyway a summary. This girl I really like was flirting with me for quite a while and communicating with me via txt. Then asked me to go to spend New Year's with me in another country. Before agreeing to go I asked if she was asking me as a friend or more? She said she has a boyfriend although she really likes me. So I didnt go. On New Yrs Eve and day we texted each other. I work with her so I seen her in work a few days later. When I seen her she caught me by surprise and I was very nervous and felt awkward. My heart was going like a train. Immediately she came to speak to me asking me loads of open questions. Being a guy I just closed up giving short direct answers. We had various assessments to do and she chose to do them with me. She decided to sit with me alot and spend lunch with me.
