yes it is and it also allows people to poison your pet more easily . my friend had a pot belly pig and someon poisoned it cause she taught it to eat people food .I would never allow my dog to eat people food cause there are some sick people in the world and if they dont like your dog they could poison it . good luck.

I'm not sure, but a have a theory.(Please skip to the last sentence if you don't want to read my explanation.) Since humans grow from all the healthy nutrients and minerals, dogs might too. Think about it like this, if our dogs were to eat a chicken bone or any food really,(just thought of a random example) they would age and grow a lot faster than we do. Our digestive systems are much more complex and it takes time for our "waste" to leave our body. So they could die of releasing their "waste" constantly. Then again, it all depends on what breed your dog is, and how you have treated them before. A sudden change in a dog's diet may have some harsh or harmless effects and consequences. So basically, if they eat human food, it may result in an earlier death than it would have been.

Actually I have two dogs and my husband and I feed them people food sometimes.
It isnt good for your dog at all. Wet dog foods and people food cause a lot of plaque on their teeth resulting in more vet visits, unless you regularly brush their teeth.
I now use dry food and beef hyde chews as this causes little or no plaque.
Plus there is a lot of people food that isn't good for their digestive system, and some foods can kill them. Chocolate is one of those, if given too much. One of my dogs (I have two Min Pins) got at a bag of Neslte Chocolate Chips and ate the entire bag. She had to go to the vets and they made her throw it all up.

Don't feed your dogs any processed human food (bread, biscuits, hotdogs). It is okay to feed them raw veggies (carrots, green beans) but as a treat and not a main meal. Be aware of sodium levels though. It can cause weight gain and the dog can become so finicky that he she won't eat their regular food and it causes the dog to beg which becomes annoying.

There are lots of different reasons why NOT to give your dog table food. The obvious one is weight gain. Obesity in dogs can lead to many diseases including, but not limited to, diabetes, hypothyroidism, arthritis, etc. Table food does not cause dogs to get worms, however, some table food is toxic to them, again including but not limited to: onions, avocado, chocolate, etc. Lastly, it your dog gets table food all the time, and he get an illness that causes him to stop eating, you have nothing left to try to entice him to eat. When eating decreases, we suggest to try to mix in certain yummy treats like chicken or beef into their regular food to entice them to eat. Well, if they already get this on a regular basis, then where is the excitement? Use table food as a VERY limited treat or, like me, don't give it to them at all. I hope this has helped you.
