Good luck with your wood gathering.

The rhymes fit well and don't sound forced. This feels like and idyllic vision. Either you live in a fabulous part of the world or your mind lives in an even more fantastic part of the human spirit. Very enjoyable. I'm thinking that there is more to this poem than a first or second read gives me. It's almost like that other American poet, Robert Frost, easy to read but beneath it there could be some darkness lingering.

As long as you don't cut anything down, I think its ok. I am sure branches don't matter, but if you are thinking about cutting up a fallen tree on public land - that might be a problem for the forest cops.

No. But if you speak with the local officials , game warden, parfk service, sherriff, police whatever is in charge of that land, you may be doing a service for them, and yourself, so it is best to ask. And also ask your local and state Fire Departments. Many wildfires are started from brush, trash scrub burns gone bad.
