My Red Sox again this year seem like they will be heading into next season without a proven, established closer, with Papelbon moving to the rotation. Just as in 2003 when they decided to use the failed "Closer by Committee" approach . And of course, Sox went into 2006 with closer questions but happened to luck out with Papelbon.

The so called "Boy Wonder" GM, Theo Epstein, that gutless wonder who sneaks out of Fenway in a gorilla suit seems to under-value the need for a dominating closer year after year as many Sabermaticians of his ilk often do.

To my mind, a great closer along with a great set-up guy can effectively shorten a game to only 7 innings. Combinations like Shields / K-Rod and Nathen / Rincon etc are a must for success. Epstein seems to think otherwise.

Any comments on the need for a great closer , being over-rated or undervalued?

My ex dumped me for a younger girl (I'm 32 , he's 31 and she's 20)... so now I am having 'age' issues. Everyone I know tells me I'm crazy. I'm fit, healthy, look like I'm 25 and take really good care of myself... but he's made me feel like a worthless old woman. What is my problem? Do other women feel like this, too? Please give me some tips to get over this? thanks...

Hey everyone.
I'm a sophomore in high school, and I really like this senior guy. I think he might like me back, but I'm not sure. He looks at me a lot (not staring, but enough to know that he's looking directly at me) when we pass each other in the hallways and stuff. And one day, he waited a while at a door just so he could open it for me (I was a long way away from the door, too). One of my friends said that he was looking at me the whole time. A few other things happened, too...but I don't think they're significant enough for me to tell you guys. He seems really shy and polite, so I don't think he would be one to go up to a girl and just flirt. So, maybe this is his way of showing that he likes me? I'm not really sure... what do you guys think? Give me your honest opinions! Thanks. :)

I'm not looking for slang, or racial slurs here. I want to hear from people who are from Mexico, Central and South America, and the Carribbean, or people who have descended from them. I would like to know if there is one all inclusive nonoffensive term one can use when trying, in a conversation, to distinguish between you and people who are European-American. I know the term Spanish speaking (Hispano hablando) refers to most of these areas, but not to Portugese speaking Brazil. I was speaking with a new acquaintance recently from Cuba. When I refered to him as Hispanic he seemed offended. Please educate me about the usage of the terms: Hispanic, Latino, Azteca, etc.
Todos somos hermanos. Ayudenme porfavor.
