Am I wrong by saying?

My wife had got bit by the family dog "a lab"a few weeks ago. Today, in which is Christmas I said, Its nice you faced your fear and went to see the dog which is staying at my fathers house.
Now I'm looked at as an a$$hole for saying that.

Well, aren't you the supportive husband! If I get bit by the family dog, you better believe I want to know my husband thinks more of me than a dog that bites me. And I would have NO DESIRE TO GO SEE THE DAMNED DOG!
