It depends on what husband and wife do while separated. It could be a good thing, which could bring both more closer..........OR it could be a very bad thing, and drive both apart.

My husband and I own our own business and we work together every day and we live in a really small house (12' x 24') in the country with only house within miles of us. I tell you this because I think for us it is a good idea to separate ourselves from one another at least once a year for a few weeks to have time alone. It does make our relationship stronger and it has been doing so for over eight years now. I guess it depends on your current living situation and how much time you spend together on a daily basis.

familiarity breeds contempt. Everyone should have their own private time, and time away, but what do you mean by seperated? A guys night out with his buddies, or seeing other people for a month or so? If you want to spend too much time apart, then you have serious problems

hmmm... i dont think it will help you that much. u shouldnt completely end the realtion ship then start again, but u could go back to being friends then build up your relationship. That works welll especially if u had a big fight

No I think you should see a GOOD marriage counselor and work on the problems.
They will still be there when you both return.

What if you separate and one of you meet someone else....that would not bring you closer...why not stay together and work on your problems_

If you have a working seperation where you both work on yourselves. You must be happy with yourself before you can be happy with someone else.

it might but he or she can also meet someone that they will want to be with and therefore someone will get left out in the cold..so before you step, you better think of the consequences
