I am thinking about getting a pet bird and currently it will probably be a Quaker Parakeet. Are these very noisy? I'd quite like to teach it to talk but do not want it being too loud!

I see advertisements for kits to grow Morel mushrooms and they say that if you follow their directions you can grow them anywhere in the US. I understand they are especially difficult to grow. Will this work in Connecticut?

Hi All,

My son has a new daycare teacher (its a home daycare) that speaks mainly spanish. She has been teaching my son spanish words. I know that this will be good for him in the long run, but I would rather him wait another year or 2 before he is taught spanish. We speak english only in our house. I just feel like because he is still learning to speak english, the spanish learning should wait. Am I being paranoid? I just don't want him coming home and pointing at something, and saying what it is in spanish, but not knowing what it is in English. Is it too early for him?

From my understanding, the Bible says that since people are all sinners, they shouldn't judge each other and that only God reserves the right to judge. What does this mean? Is it ever ok to judge? Are you supposed to forgive everything you can?

I have a baby due in May and a son that just turned 5. My husband wants me to stay home with them and resign my job position. My son has asthma and gets very sick very easily. He is wanting me to consider homeschooling him also at least till he gets a little older and builds his immune system. I want to stay home also for the most part, we can make it on my husbands income if we cut back a little and watch our money closely. I have just always had a job and feel guilty for not bringing home a paycheck. Has anyone else been through a situation like this and had these feelings?

So I brought my dog with me to the pet store. I was standing in line behind a family purchasing a Rot puppy. The parents left their two children (neither child could have been more then 4 years old) in charge of this puppy while they worked out the paperwork. This family did not speak English very well and the whole process was taking an extremely long time. As my dog and I stood waiting this Rot puppy was running all over the place, and kept coming back to jump on my dog. Neither the store employee nor the family did anything to control this puppy and his newly found freedom he was enjoying so much (no leash or anything). After about 5 attacks on my dog's tail he turned around and snapped at the puppy. He didn't hurt it, but clearly let the youngster know that he had had enough. Well, that got the attention of the clerk who proceeded to kick me out because my dog was too aggressive to be in their store!

I don't think that was right...do you?

My parents call me a faliure at life and say im wasting it up in my room. But whenever i try to go and do stuff, they ask so many questions and are so strict that its not even worth it. They have banned me from doing everything i love for no real reason. I have a place i could go and stay until i go to college... Do you think it would be a good idea? I met a guy saturday night. he seemed cool. he gave me his number and i called him sunday evening and he didnt answer. Anyway I left a message. He called monday morning and left a message knowing that i was at work so he told me to call him later. I called later and he still did not answer so I said forget it. Anywhoo he called me later that night around 10 and we talked for about 5 minutes. He then told me to call him on my lunch break the next day. I am no way sweating it and if he's not interested that is fine also but somehow I think he may live with a woman or something to that effect, something just doesnt seem right with him.
