Where are some good places to eat or drink in San Francisco where a female on her own won't get bothered or hassled? I'm here staying with a friend and would like to go out into the city during the day while he's at work, and unfortunately as he's male he's not much use when it comes to answering this question!

Also can you recommend some stores that sell off-beat things but that aren't too expensive?

Thanks!

My husband and I just found out last week that we are pregnant for the first time. We were off the pill for well over a year trying. Some great friends of our have been trying for over 4 years. They just has invetro last month and it didn't take. It was VERY devastating for both of them. We have been trying to figure out the best time to tell them. I know that they will be happy for us but I know that it will hurt them a bit too. If anyone has any suggestions on how or what to say please let me know.

No, I do not think I'm a better mother because I breastfeed, however I do want what's healthier for my baby and I feel that breastfeeding is. Many mothers that I've talked to absolutely refuse to even try breastfeeding as an option. They look at me like it's barbaric or something. They say, "Oh, I tried it once, but it hurt, so I switched to formula...ect..." So, I say, if you play the guitar, wouldn't it take a while to develop caluses on your fingers until you get used to it? Same thing with breastfeeding, of course it will hurt at first, but then you get used to it. What is wrong with mothers these days? Is breastfeeding something that women are embarrassed of or is it just the laziness of our society?

I,ve just pluged in my fibre optic plastic plant which has little lights on it, it stands at 2 feet high, anyway the AC adapter that powers it gets very warm after a while. It says 230-240v on the plug. I noticed that my mothers fibre optic xmas tree has the same plug and it gets quite warm too. Is this dangerous?

We have 2 children ages 14 and 11. We feel that we should seperate be we no longer wants to be together. I have been with him for 16 years and married for 3. My daughter is starting to feel some kind of way about us seperating But in my mind she is old enough to understand what is going on. How can I make her understand what I am trying to say. This seperation is mutual and it is time to go. Now I am 29 years old and I have things that I am trying to accomplish and he is not there where I am. What should I do?

Just a question that I'd appreciate your input on. My friends have moved onto Uni (i'm a year below them) and my other freind I got on really well with has moved closer to home and started a new life so to speak - he really had a bad time at my school and I was sorta the only friend he had so maybe he just wants to forget about the entire thing.

My point is, i never really got on well with my year and now i'm paying for it- top of the years in school and no friends at school. My interests aren't really socially popular and i really don't have any desire to be popular. i just want to get the hell outa that place with decent grades.

The internet is fast becoming my only real social outlet. Oh sure i talk to my family and go and interact in the real world, but is it really so bad for me to live like this until I can move on from my school?

Or am i just a fruity loner?
