in some text books i read in the standard quadratic equation the roots are infinite if a = 0. But if a = 0 the equation cannot be a quadratic equation. How then such formulae are given?

I am having a hard time understanding something, and I need help with this: I have a friend that told me his Dad was over come with smoke from a barn fire years ago - and he is now confined to a wheelchair resulting from the smoke and that it caused brain damage and he now has symptoms of Parkinsons....I can't divulge the reason I need to know, but can someone tell me how accurate this sounds? Thanks

...not in an arrogant way but one that respects and observes all life and nature...My world is not anchored or influenced by religion of any kind. I was brought up in a country with little or no religous hang ups...Catholisim was offered at school 1 hr a week but we could and did opt out of it. My family are not religous for several generations in either direction. We never went to any church in any form....Religion was there but not obvious. We grew up on sport, family, nature and the sea....The local culture with their old religion explained well the culture and environment that they lived in prior to white intervention. A culture that managed and maintained the environment and prescribed the rules of the culture. Again it was there but not part of my life...I am not uneducated. I grew up alonside all creeds and faiths....
So I ask why cannot each faith see that they have common ground....Love, Respect of others. Care of the world, Tolerance. Understanding. So why fight each other?

Everytime I sleep in class or take a nap, I wake up with a very bloated stomach. I mean really bloated like I got pregnant in 45-1 hour. Why and how does that happen? It hurts worse if I drink pop before nap. I'd have to bend over a little bit to ease the pain or go to the bathroom. I'd say we have three reasons to go to the bathroom yourself: pee, poop, and blow. A solution or ideas to deal with it would be cool.
