Why isn't the caps lock capitalized?

Because the "Shift" key isn't really Shifty.

I've seen a number of keyboards, and on ever one of them the caps lock key is capitalized, 'Caps Lock'

Because it would be annoying. People get ticked off at you when YOU USE ALL CAPS IN A CHAT ROOM CUZ THAT MEANS YOU'RE YELLING AT THEM!!!! Now why would you want your own computer YELLING AT YOU!!?

Cause ALL CAPS feels like someone is SCREAMING AT YOU. I don't want my computer to scream at me. That's my wife's job.
