I’m placing this revised inquiry to get some detailed feedbacks; your participation is well valued. Since I live in the countryside, I run on dirt / grassy trails. The terrain is fairly flat with some rolling hills and good foothold, with few gravel areas.
My roommate is a member of the American Endurance Ride Conference and she does endurance riding on her 10-year-old Arabian gelding (15.2 hands). While I’m a marathon runner, she suggested that I tag along with her as she goes on her training rides. She indicated that she usually maintain a trot.
She revealed that she might preload her horse with electrolyte (“Endura-Max”). She took part in 25, 50, & multi-days events. She is currently preparing for an event call “Camp Far West”.
Seriously, is she pulling my leg? Should I take on her challenge? Would I be able to keep up with her?
