My plane is flying in to JFK Wednesday, and I'll have 5 hours before my next plane takes off, so I kinda want to go to Times Square for a while. :)

How many China Towns are there in NY? Which ones are the largest? Do they have a lot of cute stuff like Sanrio, anime, etc? I've already been on the one at Canal St.

What are some good locales in the Catskill Mountains for a 2-day weekend vacation?
I prefer the place to be VERY WALKABLE, and to have a lake nearby. We would walk from the hotel to the lake.
(Similar to Lake Placid in the Adirondacks)

The people I'm going with don't have a car so we would get there via NYC Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.

A list of applicable locations would be great!

I was wondering where there were some good places to go hiking around New Jersey. I leave about 30 minutes of New York city and wouldn't mine driving up to 2 -3 hours to find a good area to go hiking, especially if there are other things to do in the area.

...I couldn't disagree more with that myth. I always have found the majority of NYers to be helpful, friendly, and proud of their city.

Are they rushed? They have to be, they're a busy people.

Are they cautious? They have to be, we're not talking about Oz here.

Are they open-minded? Well, in a city that attracts people from 170 different nations, speaking just as many, if not more, languages and dialects, why wouldn't you be?

Do they help their fellow human beings in times of dyer need? NYers seem to be among the first to do so.

I live in middle America (Kentucky) and I believed the whole "New York rude" myth UNTIL I visited. Now, I want to thank NYers for your gift to the world: Your great city!

Hi!

We are planning a one day hiking and maybe a picnic or BBQ after the
hiking in Harriman State Park next week. We have around 10 people. Most
of us are beginners. We will get there around 11am and hike around 4 to
5 hours. Hopefully we can get back to the parking and start to picnic
or BBQ around 4pm.

Does anyone have suggestion for planning this fun trip?

Thank you!

Robin
