What are the required identifications that are needed to travel from California to New Jersey by plane? Can somebody just show like a school ID (College ID) instead of a california ID? I'd appreciate the help. Thanx

I want to go into NYC alone with my friend to see a concert at Madison Square Garden but there's one problem. My dad was already going with his friend to see the concert and gave me two extra tickets for me and a friend. I am going to talk to my dad about someone going there alone with my friend (he has a license and we could maybe take the train in) I think he thinks that we're all going together but I don't want to come off as a loser to my friend. I've never gone to the city by myself before and neither to Madison Square Garden. The concert is at 8pm so it would be over probably around 11 so I would be kinda nervous walking the streets of nyc late at night. What should I do???

We'll be in Manhattan in early September, and I just wanted to know the fastest/cheapest way to get to the Statue of Liberty. We don't want to rent a car, so we can save money on parking, so what would be the fastest way by subway, bus, train, etc.

I'm visiting my boyfriend who recently moved to Long Island in a week. His parents are terrified of the city and refuse to drive us there, but we'd both like to see it. I've been on the MTA website, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to get from Port Jefferson to Manhattan. What's the easiest/cheapest route I can take using public transportation? If I can avoid it, I don't want to go from train to train because of the cost. Trains ARE preferable, though, but anything else (buses, etc) will work. Any New Yorkers know what they're doing? Please help us out! Thanks!!

Okay so me and one of my best friends are going on a "roadtrip" not exactly because we both have very tight work schedules. Basically we are going for one day on a sunday. We can basically go anywhere in New York state. We don't want more then a 3-4 hour drive(We're from Central NY). So we are basically looking for a daytrip.

We are not looking for beaches and we've gone to Lake George a ton of time, which if anyone is wondering is a great vacation spot, but we are looking for something new and exciting. We went to Philadelphia together a few years ago and had an amazing time. We are looking for something like that. If anyone has any good idea's I would love to hear them Thanks.

Why do people think New Yorkers are mean and cold? I'm 13 years old, from New York, and I'm not like that except when I'm being annoyed.
Reader's Digest criticizes New Yorkers in the July 2006 issue, saying, "Have New Yorkers suddenly gone soft?" and "In the end, four out of every five people they encountered passed RD's courtesy test, making New York the most courteous city in the world. Imagine that."
I don't get this. Could someone explain why people criticize NYers so much?
Thanks!

We will be a mid to late 20's family with one kid and one dog relocating from FT. Benning, Ga. to New York, NY area. Wife is an accountant, I will seek employment with NYPD. Looking for a place that is relatively safe, good schools, house prices that match our jobs, backyard would be nice. Any help would be appreciated.
