I will be relocating to NYC for work and am looking for any tips on making the transition. I am coming from a decent sized city in the Midwest. Is apartment hunting as big of a nightmare as it sounds? What neighborhoods should I steer clear of?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated! :-)

My boyfriend and I are going to a Dispatch concert in Madison Square garden and we're trying to figure out if we want to take a car into the city or hop a bus. What's the typical rate for parking at a hotel in NYC? Are there any safe options for leaving your car just outside the city and taking an alternate mode of transportation in? If so, what are they, their rates, and is there an extra charge for the lot you leave your car in?

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer. :)

I'm going 2 New York with a friend this weekend & we would like to go 2 out 2 some clubs that play Hip hop & R&B music. We are both over 21, but don't mind going to 18 and over clubs. We would like to party with people in their 20's. We don't like 2 party with the 30 & over crowd. We also are on a budget & don't want to pay more than a $20 cover charge. We don't really care about celebrities that much either. We just want 2 go somewhere that's poppin.

How 'bout we rebuild the Towers, but this time add a few more towers so that it looks like NYC is flicking-the-bird in the direction of Mecca and Medina? This will occur only if you look at the structure from a single pespective in NYC, and NYC would make a bundle off the proceeds from the image!

I want to take a girl to NYC and I was wondering some nice places to go, like Central Park or some museum. The train tickets are going to cost $100 to begin with and with eating and stuff I'd want to try to spend as little amount of money as possible (don't call me cheap, I'm in college.) So any good places in NYC to go.

Also, how much are some Yankee tickets in the Bronx?

My son and I are planning a trip and we've never been to NY. I hear the Macy's fireworks are the best and that's the plan for now, but I'm also planning to stay in NJ and take the Staten Island Ferry in for the fireworks.
Is it safe for tourists to walk in Manhattan and ride the Staten Island Ferry to get back to our hotel in the late evening (11pm-12mid). I know that this may sound like a stupid question to New Yorkers. I've just never been there and don't want to make a rookie mistake. Also, where in New Jersey would you stay that is reasonable and in a decent area?

My son and I are going on a road trip that will include New York. I've never been and we can only visit for a day. Is it possible to see the WTC site, Statue of Liberty and Times Square by driving or should I save New York for a longer visit?
