How 'bout we rebuild the Towers, but this time add a few more towers so that it looks like NYC is flicking-the-bird in the direction of Mecca and Medina? This will occur only if you look at the structure from a single pespective in NYC, and NYC would make a bundle off the proceeds from the image!

Okay, it seems like SOME of you excelled in your conflict resolutions class in elementary school, and to the guy who thinks that NYers are too classy, fugetabowdit. Your lame answer ain't scoring you no points when it comes time for me to pick a best answer.

And another thing, for those of you who think THIS idea is the WRONG one. 19 of These "peace-loving" muslims KILLED nearly 3,000 of OUR citizens in COLD BLOOD! Hello! This thing working? A middle-finger in the direction of Mecca and Medina seems at least a FAIR exchange since we didn't turn either Mecca or Medina into a glass museum, i.e. via a nuclear attack. Sand does that when you get it REALLY hot. It becomes glass.

All you Gomers who feel that this is an "unacceptable" idea are the SAME ones who let the hijackers TAKE OVER the planes and fly them into the Twin Towers! You would just tell yourselves,

"Oh! These guys just want to make a statement. They don't want to 'kill' anyone."

Thanks to attitudes like yours we had planes crash into three buidlings, and nearly 3,000 Americans died on that quiet September morning.

I'm afraid it's been done, buddy. This appeared as a cartoon in one of the local papers about a week after Sept. 11, I think. I remember seeing it and laughing for the first time...

I always thought that they could satisfy the "preserve the site as a tribute " folks by having the bottom of the building start 10 stories, above street level.
Think of what the Eiffel Tower looks like w/ the space below it , Then erect a long rectangular box on top of those four legs.
A new buiiding goes up , the site is preserved and everyone goes home happy.

Personally.....I would of just constructed the towers as they were...same design and all.....
I remember going there and just looking up at both of them....pretty neat......I've gone up those towers a good number of times....

I really hate the tourist that go there now.....show no respect taking pictures left and right.....but thats people for you

Not at a big fan of the freedom tower design......

Kinda funny, but definitely not conductive to improved international relations. We have to take the higher ground as ambassadors to peace, 'cause they obviously won't. This certainly would be a step in the wrong direction.

I would love to see that happen! Of course best put some AA batteries on top of it, and ultra security in the garages

It's a nice thought, but in this age of "political correctness" when we have to be so stinkin' cautious of offending people, I don't think It would get much support.

We New Yorkers have too much class to do something so vulgar and juvenile.

PS As we say in NYC "GFY"
