Hi!

We are planning a one day hiking and maybe a picnic or BBQ after the
hiking in Harriman State Park next week. We have around 10 people. Most
of us are beginners. We will get there around 11am and hike around 4 to
5 hours. Hopefully we can get back to the parking and start to picnic
or BBQ around 4pm.

Does anyone have suggestion for planning this fun trip?

Thank you!

Robin

See how close you can get to the Hudson River. I'm sure if you are able to see the river, it will be a breathtaking sight.

Recommended clothing and equipment for hikers

For Summer Day Hikes:

The Ten Essentials:

Compass
Flashlight or Headlamp
Matches/Firestarters

Also important to take on day hikes:

Sturdy Footwear and Extra Socks
Watch

this may sound like a lot but with begginers you just never know
expect the unexpected

been there and loved it, unfortunately don't remember the names of any trails. there was a part where we scrabbled down rocks...

it'll be fun, whatever route you choose.
