Help with ChinaTowns in New York!!!?

Question

How many China Towns are there in NY? Which ones are the largest? Do they have a lot of cute stuff like Sanrio, anime, etc? I've already been on the one at Canal St.

You should try the one in Flushing Queens. Take the 7 train to the last stop (Main St.) You'll find more Sanrio stores here than in Manhattan's Chinatown. BTW. Many of the malls now have Sanrio stores if that is what you are looking for. Queens Center Mall (R train to Woodhaven) has one...I believe Roosevelt Field Mall on Long Island has one also.

If you are looking for cute things in addition to Sanrio...try in Flushing...on 39th ave btween Main Street and Union Street there's a large store (Korean -i think). And I'm not sure if this store is still around...but (I used to go there when I was younger) it's called OPANE on Union Street...it's next to the fire dept (sort of located on a bridge). Oh Yeah....there's a Morning Glory store there too.

The Chinatown in Flushing is the largest - go to Main Street, the last stop on the #7 Flushing train. There is also a big Chinatown in Brooklyn in Sunset Park on Eighth Avenue - take either the D train to 49th Street or the N train to Eighth Avenue. (There is also a very small Chinatown on Avenue U - the Q train to Avenue U).

There is only one Chinatown and it is wedged between the Wall Street area, and the Lower East Side of New York City.
