Easily accessible towns in the Catskills for weekend vacation?

Question

What are some good locales in the Catskill Mountains for a 2-day weekend vacation?
I prefer the place to be VERY WALKABLE, and to have a lake nearby. We would walk from the hotel to the lake.
(Similar to Lake Placid in the Adirondacks)

The people I'm going with don't have a car so we would get there via NYC Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.

A list of applicable locations would be great!

Try Woodstock New York. Yes, "the" Woodstock, NY.
It's a quaint village, walkable, no public transportation.
It's a One-Taxi town, you could wait for hours for it!
Take the Trailways bus from Port Authority Bus Station. Departure point is: downstairs/escalator/elevator.
