I plan on going from Ft. Myers, Florida to Portland, Oregon with a friend for about a week. (flight + hotel) What's the best website to go through (Orbitz, Hotwire, Travelocity..) Is there a less expensive part of the week/month to go? (We're aiming for sometime between december and february)

I am moving to NYC and will be renting (80% of Manhattanites rent so I wont feel like a loser)
I am trying to figure out how much $$$$ I need to rent a nice place and have enough cash for at least 2 years.
I am starting my own website for health and beauty and will be paying the bills with a lucrative part time corporate design job that pays 140k starting 2/08 in NYC.
I want to move to NYC by January.
I have 160k saved up. I plan to use some it towards rent/daily expenses.
Do I have enough saved up to cover 2 years in NYC ?
I plan to spend around 3-3,600 a month on rent.

we are a family with pets wanting to move, but we would like some inside info - what would you suggest. we would like to be close to a busy city which is also family and career/job orientated.

Would you take I-80 all the way or take I-70 ? If took I-70, I see on the map I could take US6 to I-15 to Salt Lake City? Or....travel all the way to the end of I-70 and go North on I-15, then take US 6 50 to I-80 ???? Please help. How are these State Road like ? busy with a lot of traffic lights? I am looking to travel in the southeast region of the US and I am looking for the southern most state that receives a regular amount of snow each year.
