Would you take I-80 all the way or take I-70 ? If took I-70, I see on the map I could take US6 to I-15 to Salt Lake City? Or....travel all the way to the end of I-70 and go North on I-15, then take US 6 50 to I-80 ???? Please help. How are these State Road like ? busy with a lot of traffic lights? Safe road? or better to stay all the way on Interstate?

I-80 is the fastest way.

It is also the least scenic. I-80 through Wyoming is dull, crowded with trucks, and often very windy.

I-70 through Colorado and Utah is beautiful, maybe the most scenic Interstate in the country.

Personally, I'd take I-70/I-15/50/6/50/I-80. And have. There's no need to go to Salt Lake City. A little slower, but much more pleasant drive.

In winter I'd go I-80 though. Less (but not no) snow.

The fastest route is up I-25 to I-80 then on to San Francisco

The I-70 route is definitely more scenic. If you decide on this and then take US6 to I-15, know that US6 is one of the more dangerous highways in the USA. It's a two-lane road and there are many accidents. I-70 to I-15 is not that much further out of the way, and a bit safer.

I might also suggest checking the various department of transportation websites for construction plans, which could slow you down quite a bit.

Also, be aware of weather - right now, shouldn't be a problem, but the later in the year, the more likely to hit snow - which certainly affects travel time.

The fastest & safest route is I-25 north to Ft. Collins the US 287 to Laramie,WY and I-80 west from there all the way. Incidentally, Amtrak has daily rail service between Denver &SF and the route is really pretty!
