I've applied to Rosemont at Hidden Creek apartments, is this a good apartment complex? A good area to live in for a single mom of 3? I hear a lot of talk about crime, what type of crime is going on? I live in Buffalo,NY and Murder is the top crime here, so I don't want to jump from the fire to the frying pan. Can anyone give me some advice on the overall reputation of Austin?

My wife and I are going on a trip touring around California and Las Vegas I am hoping to obtain some advice on tipping so that we can be suitably prepared. I have already found questions and answers here which refer to us Brits as lousy tippers, what should we know about tipping so as not to cause offence?

What is the best way to judge without tipping too little or too much? I expect meals are fairly easy to tip as a percentage of the bill but what about hotel staff like porters, parking valets and bar tenders? When tipping a valet do you give the tip when you drop-off the car, when you collect it or both?

This is to be the first time we are are driving in the US too, so is tipping expected at petrol stations and again to what amount?

So i'm moving to Hawaii, i'm currently here on vacation and I love it here, so I'm gonna move here, I love everything about it here and plan to live here. So I am gonna live on the island of Oahu, where could I get a cheap apartment or house that I can rent? I know it's expensive here but i've been here for 5 days and now I already have made several friends and everyone is so friendly. I like the different cultures, I love everything about this place. So any ideas on pretty cheap housing?

We are looking for a condo called Coral Resort on Clearwater Beach in Florida . It is a rental . Might be through Garden Terrace or Cyber Rentals. 1 Bedroom with two bath rooms for 1 week. It also could be Coral Reef if there is a place in Clearwater. Thank you.

I am going to Hawaii and was wondering if there are different driving laws there. I'm 17 and am curious to know if i can drive someone who's 16. I live in California and have had my license for over a year passing the one year limit not being able to drive anyone under 21. Anyone know the laws in Hawaii?

Can anybody give me a suggestion on where to stay on the beach close to LA? I'm hoping to get a nice hotel/motel, clean, close to the beach, safe, with the best price possible.

Also the same question for Hollywood.

p.s. it will be during spring break.
Thank you.

okay so i am moving to chi town. anyways, ive looked on craigslist and other sites about possible openings for living. but i also heard you can contact agents who will help you find a place and you can give them your specifications. also, i heard you don't have to pay them because they get money from the apts u would sign with...what site(s) or should i say what is the best site to go to to get the info and number to speak with these companies/people.....ty

I notice sometimes at night lately (it's Feb.) that there are fireworks going off about 7:15 p.m. somewhere maybe downtown or by Star of India area. Anyone have any idea where they are coming from? (It's not Sea World). Curious.

I am going to Disney World for a couple of days. I originally wanted to stay at the Disney World resorts but found the deluxe resorts too expensive, and the moderate resorts seemed a little cheap looking and was still a little too expensive, and the value resorts just seemed really cheap and tacky. Is it true that the value resorts like the All Stars are cheap looking??? So I found the Marriott Orlando World Center Resort. It's close to Disney World and seemed pretty nice. Is this resort nice and a good hotel to stay at? If not, are there any other nice hotels near Disney World, that are about $250 per night?

Has anyone heard of what they are planning to do in Florida?

They are thinking of making adding the highest sales tax in the country in Florida (somewhere around 8 or 9 percent) and eliminating the property tax. For those who live or dont live in Florida, what are your thoughts about that?
