I am travelling there in a few weeks and am unsure whether or not I need to get a visa?

If so can you get them online?

Thanks

Only if you are staying for more than 90 days and you don't have a passport, if you have a passport and are staying for less than 90 days, have a great stay, you'll love the city!

Ok. You probably qualify for the US 'visa waiver program' which is designed for tourists and includes British citizens.
It's for stays of up to 90 days.
You need a machine-readable UK passport, as mentioned above.

However, if you have ever been arrested in any country *even if you weren't given a criminal conviction* you will have to apply for a US visa. This doesn't apply to minor motoring offences but does include stuff like public protest arrests.

There's a quick Q&A form on the US Embassy's website which will tell you if you qualify for the VWP or not: http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/visa_wizard.html

Hope all goes well -- enjoy the trip! :-D

UK citizens do not need a visa to visit the USA for stays of up to 90 days. Just need your passport.

If you are just visiting for less than two weeks, there is no need for a visa. Any length of time after that you need a travelling visa. After three months you need a working visa.

enjoy, i love new york!

You need a green card - sometimes you can get a job before you travel and get a green card through your employer. otherwise you need to apply for one before you go, i think it lasts a year like Australia etc.
