Lincoln Memorial: “In this temple, as in the hearts of the people for whom he saved the Union, the memory of Abraham Lincoln is enshrined forever.” Beneath these words, the 16th President of the United States—the Great Emancipator and preserver of the nation during the Civil War—sits immortalized in marble. As an enduring symbol of Freedom, the Lincoln Memorial attracts anyone who seeks inspiration and hope.

The Lincoln Memorial is just as you mentioned; the giant Lincoln Statue, the Four scores verse, and some pictures. However the view from the top of the stairs is amazing you can see the Washington Memorial, the vietnam memorial, city hall, and the Pool of reflection (I think thats what its called). Arlington is definately worth going to if you go Washington DC. Be careful in DC though it isn't the nicest of US cities. I'm not sure about a website.

There's a cute little gift shop but it's basically what you said. Minus the paintings, I think. And, if you stand in the right spot on the steps facing the memorial, you can make it look like the Washington Monument is coming out of your head! That's always fun. Great photo op.

Yes, I have visited the Lincoln Memorial. There are also plaques inside. As for a website, visit:
http://www.nps.gov/linc and http://www.nps.gov/archive/linc/home.htm.
