You can also try www.chicagoapartmentfinders.com in addition to the other sites listed above.

Keep in mind, though, you are likely going to pay higher rent using an apartment finding service. Most landlords will mark up rent to cover the costs of using an apartment finding service. Most of these services charge landlords a month's rent (or more) for the service.

Be patient with Craigslist.org as you will likely find the best deals there. Also try Chicago Tribune Classifieds: http://www.chicagotribune.com/classified/realestate/renting/ and The Chicago Reader http://classifieds.chicagoreader.com. Both of these sites have comprehensive search engines and are great resources.

Good luck and welcome to Chicago!

Try Apartment People (http://www.apartmentpeople.com/). If I'm not mistaken, you tell them what you want and they actually drive you to the various buildings.

There's also the Apartment Guys (http://www.apartmentguysofchicago.com/) and Apartmenz, Inc. (http://www.apartmentz.info/chicago.asp?ac=overture&ad=chi&k=find+apartment+in+chicago). One of these places should be able to help you.

If you don't like rent.com, you can google apartments in Chicago, and that will give you more sites to go on.
