I'm from California so I don't own a jacket and I need to get one prior to my visit. Can you please suggest some brands of clothing you wear (for a young person) for outerwear - jackets etc. I just have no idea where to start and I know it rains a lot in the winter there so I want to get the right jacket that is waterproof etc. Any suggestions? The nycmarathon.org doesn't give me a map detailed enough. I'm really looking for the streets & cross streets of the portion that is ran in Brooklyn. I know they run on 4th ave from the Verrazano Bridge but do they ride along 4th Ave all the way to the BK Bridge?

Is the Amtrak station in Rockford, IL close to downtown Rockford? From the map I looked at, it seems like the station's just outside the major urban area. Can I walk from the train station to the downtown area, and if not, is it easy to use a city bus and/or a taxi?
