I think New York would be a good intro to our country. :)
Other places people seem to like:
A) Miami--Beaches, Art Deco.
B) Los Angeles--Hollywood, Tours of Studios
C) Chicigo--Heard it's nice, wouldn't mind going myself.
D) New Orleans--Don't know where it's at on the rebuilding scales, but its got its own unique and fascinating culture & history.
E) Washington, DC. (and Philly, and Boston): For some American History sights.
But, yup, I'd pick New York! Central Park, Times Square, The Metropolitan Museum, Statue of Liberty, the Village, Empire State Building, shopping!!!

I have never been to New York so I can not comment on that, but I will say that Florida is a wonderful place to visit. Orlando is not my favorite area. I like it further south like Naples it is wonderful there. I have heard that West Palm Beach is really nice & the Keys. I guess though that it would depend on what type of person he is.

America is so diverse and if he visits one place he's missing out on something else. I've never been to New York but doubt that it represents all of America. I love Florida, Oregon and Chicago. (3 very different places!) I live in KY and it's beautiful here. You couldn't find nicer people.

First time visitors to New York can be shocked for the first time. I was! (I am from California) First trip to America you would think people would want to go to New York or Los Angeles. Both good places, but if you looking for somwhere to go on vacation for your first time, go to Hawaii. there is absolutely no way that you would be disappointed.

Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington are nice cities, but it rains a lot in the northwest. Some places have less trouble than other places. The weather is always nice in California. Also, they are always hiring at the casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada.
