Coming from which direction?

Here's your complete guide to getting to Oregon from the north, east and south (from the west, it's pretty wet :-):

http://www.tripcheck.com

If you look at this site in the daylight (Pacific) hours, you can see Webcams of all the mountain passes and a lot of crucial interchanges. I drive back and forth between Portland and San Francisco regularly (planning my next trip this week, in fact), and Tripcheck is a MUST to know what to expect.

Oh, and if you're coming from California, the pass is Siskiyou Pass. The summit there, about three miles north of the California border, is the highest point in I-5 -- 4315 feet above sea level. Be sure to stop at the bottom of the pass in Ashland, Oregon -- one of my favorite towns.

Have a good trip!
