Unfortunately, The Plaza is no longer open. It is currently being renovated into a hotel and condos. The Pierre is a nice alternative, just a block or two away, but very expensive as is the Sherry-Netherland. Here are a few more to consider:
If your idea of romance is classic old New York, I would suggest either the St. Regis (home of the world famous Monkey Bar), the Peninsula with its rooftop bar, or the Algonquin. The Algonquin has the distinction of being made famous in the 1920s by writers such as Dorothy Parker and Nathaniel Benchley among those who helped found The New Yorker and met at the Algonquin for lunch.

Other romantic spots include -
The Bryant Park Hotel (breathtaking location across the street from Bryant Park)

The Library Hotel on Madison and 41st

The Hotel Giraffe on Park Avenue South might also interest you, since it is unique among New York hotels in that the rooms have balconeys.

I wish you a beautiful night together, and a lifetime of joy.

Love The Terrace, up by skill of Columbia college that has a great terrace exterior the eating place. it relatively is no longer the main inexpensive eating place, yet while in comparison with a great sort of the extra desirable eating places, and that's one among them, the charges are acctually fairly real looking.
