I'm moving to Oregon in January from Oklahoma and I am worried about getting over the mountains in the winter. What is the best way to get to Oregon with the least amount of snow? We figured we'd go through Arizona, but are worried about actually getting to OR from California. Thanks

Ok, so I am planning on moving to Los Angeles sometime soon and am looking for a nice area to live that is not way too expensive. I don't mind paying $1200 for a one bedroom apartment as long as it's in a relatively safe neighborhood. I have heard that the southern suburbs are nice and that the western neighborhoods are okay. Which ones are the safest but also relatively close to cultural venues and other cool places LA is renowned for? Also, I've heard the San Fernando Valley is nice, but I've also read it's the heart of the porn industry...is it odd living next door to people shooting porn films...seems to me like it would be a bit uncomfortable. Any thoughts?

I'm in Lancaster County and would like to find a hotel that has rooms done up in different themes. (examples...ahhh Jungle, S&M/Goth, midevil) Does anyone know of any or how to search for it? I can't find anything and I know they are around. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

Hi! Can anyone tell me what's the latest date you can post a Christmas card to the USA for it to reach in time for Christmas. The love of my life will be spending it there on business and won't be home til the 27th. I want to sent her a card to cheer her (and me !) up. Can i sent it recorded delivery to ensure safe delivery? Someone at work told me it's not always guaranteed. She's in Atlanta Georgia by the way, if you have to take time zones or whatever into account. Thanks.

I moved to New York State (Albany to be precise) last year, since then im kind of missing the west(i was in seattle for a long time, and denver). I have friends to be with and all so it has been fine, but somehow i feel like ppl were nicer, more laid back, and cities were more beautiful when i was in washington etc. can that be one of those EAST/WEST Differences or is it just me missing good old days for whatever reason. if anyone who has lived or been to both eastern and western side of this country im more than happy to hear.

My little sister's bachelorette party will be in mid-March 2007 and we are planning everything. We want to check out a strip club near Gilbert, since that's where the house is where we'll be staying that night. However I'll be with someone who knows the area...Scottsdale or Tempe are the best. We also want to rent a party van to avoid driving ourselves. Please, any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

What are some fun, cool, or unique things or places in the Bay Area for 18-20 year olds?

I'm interested in just about everything such as nightlife, shopping, amusement type attractions, restauants, hiking, sports of any kind, and sightseeing/views.

I've lived in San Francisco for about half a year now, so I know all about the obvious areas. I'm looking for specific things/places that would be fun. Ex: specific nightclubs that allow 18+, specific sailing company, specific hiking trail in Muir Woods etc.

Thanks in advance!!!

I dont what to hear how I should not do this because of gas. I dont care. I want to know of all the little things and big things there is to do in all 49 states. I am not going to Hawaii. If you could tell me of places you have been, or know that other people have been to and where it is in the state, that would be cool. I am going over the summer, with some friends. Thanks

I was just wondering if anyone has seen the Chicago FD Ambulance's from the 90's? I noticed that a couple have square lights on the sides and others have smaller lights? Are the big lights for the ALS ambulances? And the little ones for BLS?
