I moved to New York State (Albany to be precise) last year, since then im kind of missing the west(i was in seattle for a long time, and denver). I have friends to be with and all so it has been fine, but somehow i feel like ppl were nicer, more laid back, and cities were more beautiful when i was in washington etc. can that be one of those EAST/WEST Differences or is it just me missing good old days for whatever reason. if anyone who has lived or been to both eastern and western side of this country im more than happy to hear.

I spent 5 yrs in Albany, and I always felt that in many ways it was a depressed city. I suggest you spend some of your free time up north in the Adirondacks. That should help with some of your homesickness. Good luck.

Everywhere you go there is always something different. For example, whew it's so humid in here, your experiences will take you back to Seattle where it's nice and cool. I have lived in both West, East the Tropics and travelled half of the World. Needless to say I absorb experiences like this like a sponge, in such a way I feel blessed to say that "I've been there, and don't want to go back there". One of those lessons learned things.

There is a world of difference between New York and Seattle.
Theres no comparison.
NYC is forever on the move and busy 24/7. Seattle is more laid back and people actually enjoy life there..

sure, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania border long island. no person else has suggested, besides the fact that, that Rhode Island additionally stocks a water border with long island.
